Do items, abilities and moves additional effects have higher chances to be activated in Battle Tower Master Class?

Cause it can't be only bad luck. I can't even complete the first 7 battles because there is always something that goes wrong and it looks like the NPCs are cheating or have all INSANE LUCK. I know it is supposed to be a lot harder than normal battles but it's like it's programmed to make you always lose no matter what!

I was so excited to finally get it but I guess they forgot about me. Is there any possibility they will send me the code eventually?
