I am getting a new computer and selling my old one.

3060ti, I7-10700KF, 32gb ddr4 RAM, 1 TB SSD, 1TB HDD

I'll also throw in an old 1440p monitor (Asus MG 279Q).

My computer does restart sometimes for whatever reason; I think it's PSU related but not entirely sure.

I was thinking of as-is for $250-300 since the GPU sells for 250 by itself.

Does this sound fair?

Using mostly Rtings, I've found four 4k monitors that are well rated for gaming:

  1. Odyssey Neo G7 (VA) (7.9 but out of stock)

  2. Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx (IPS) (7.7 & $350 at BH) (P3biipruzx is better rated but out of stock or discontinued?)

  3. Odyssey Neo G8 (VA) (8.2 but horrible reviews on actual Samsung website for quality control)

  4. Koorui S2741LM (IPS) (8.1 but out of stock and listed on website as selling for $550?)

The Koorui msrp seems especially high; I could get a Samsung Odyssey G81SF for $650 but I don't like the burn-in issues with OLED and I sometimes work from home.

Anything I'm missing? I'm surprised it's so hard to find a decent gaming monitor without re

I have a pension that is paid X amount in today's dollars at retirement age and that's how I've input it in the income section. When the pension amount shows up in lifetime income projection it is starting at 85% of X instead of the full value. Boldin shouldn't be applying inflation to that amount between now and then since I've already input the amount that I will receive in today's dollars starting at retirement.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I've asked the AI but it is very useless and slow.

Thanks.

I can't sell or buy anymore on my app. The app just freezes after I push the "trade" button.

Have an iphone 8.

Anyone else having this problem recently?

So I was using the Roth Conversion Explorer and when I attempted to max the 22% tax bracket, Boldin recommended I start converting immediately.

I found that to be odd given that I'll be in a lower tax bracket in retirement and the conventional advice about waiting till after employment.

Anyone gotten similar advice? Anyone vetted and followed it?

I've been using my Rogue Echo for about three months now and I tend to have knee pain while using the machine. Sometimes I even get sort of a clicking sound/feeling from my knees. I've never experienced knee pain before.

I've watched all the videos on seat height and they haven't helped me much.

Was curious what men who are 6ft tall have been setting the seat height at?

Thanks.

I am not particularly good at this game; I have been playing from amateur going up to 2nd league and playing on easy settings.

I"m curious how I'm supposed to train all the level 1 players I keep getting from the youth academy when I have to use all my skilled players to actually win games?

What has your strategy been?

I don't plan on retiring overseas but it is a plan B of sorts.

For those of you that plan to move overseas or have moved overseas, I was curious how long it took you to become proficient in the language?

I've had a little French and Spanish in high school but even with some basic foundation, I think it would take me years to actually become fluent.

That said, learning the language shows serious commitment to actually FIREing overseas and I think it would be very hard to integrate without learning the language.

But I also worry that once you're a certain age (like in your 40s or 50s) we might not be able to pick it up to the extent necessary to stop feeling like an outsider.

I have seen these on closeout at various places.

Does this mean this speaker is being discontinued?

I'm hoping to pick up a pair when the pair price goes back down to $700.

I have an old 2.1 system (AVR Yamaha VX375, SVS PB-12 NSD and Infinity Primus P363s) that I would like to upgrade but am not sure how much more I would have to spend to have a definitively better speaker. I've read more than a few old posts about people spending in the $600/pair range and posters commenting that this was more of a lateral move from the Primus speakers.

I purchased the P363s for $200/pair and realize to get significantly better is going to be a lot more money than $200. I would be fine with spending about 1K to 3K per pair.

I realize this is budget audiophile but I'm sure some of you guys have heard or own plenty of more expensive equipment.

If I were to upgrade to someth

I understand that social security has a COLA adjustment once I get benefits.

But if I retire early at 55 (which we will say is this year) with an estimated benefit of $1,000/month and start taking social security at 70, does that benefit get COLA adjusted for all the years in-between 55 and 70?

Because if not then my benefits are actually only worth about 63% at the time they start to payout.

How do people factor this into their planning?

My government employer offers a 457(b).

I would like to take advantage of this plan because I wish to retire a little early (55).

When I spoke with a representative I was told they did not offer index funds, only mutual funds. They confirmed that the mutual funds were actively managed.

One of the listed "mutual funds" was the Fidelity 500 Index fund, which if you bought through Fidelity as a taxable investment has an expense ratio of .015%. In comparison, the same exact fund through this "mutual fund" had an expense ratio of .27%.

Similarly, Fidelity indicates the 10yr performance of the index is 16.54% vs the 457(b) version which has a 13.88% return.

I saw the same pattern for other I
