I, 18(F), am in my first year of college. We have a class that's full of impromptu speeches, and a lot of my other classes have presentations that I'm genuinely struggling with. I got by fine in highschool because we usually have group works, and someone in said group often has someone who volunteers to speak.

I have social anxiety and a bad stutter. The only way I can present something well is if I was reading a speech because it's easier for me to modulate my tone and voice when there's a clear script for me. But my teachers now don't allow even flashcards, so I usually fumble my entire way through without a clear point to whatever it was that I said. Pls help a girlie out 😭

How do I(18F) reach out to old friend? (17M)

Lately, I've been really missing an old friend that I have had a crush on since grade 3. We were really close friends, given that we were only a few months apart in age and live in the same condominium. Then come grade 6, we had a really bad fight just a few days before our country forced a lockdown due to the pandemic. Thanks to that, we drifted apart and haven't contacted each other until 2023, when we coincidentally saw each other during December.

We talked for a while then played badminton. Then we met up again a few months later to play badminton again. The pandemic really hit my social skills hard and I also was a bit worried about what t

I have a younger sister (10) who barely does any chores at home. She was assigned to sweeping and folding her own clothes before, but my mom gave up on making her do it because she had to redo everything afterwards anyway.

She likes art and crafting, and I'm fine with that. What I'm irritated about is that she never cleans. She just leaves her mess where it was, and then plays on her ipad or goes to sleep. Except her mess usually consists of cut up pieces of paper, tape, and staples. The paper gets everywhere. On the floor, on the tables, and on the couch.

I tell her daily to sweep the paper away, and at the very least, clean up the desk because we share it. She does neither, or half-a

My mom feels two-faced

Mildly Annoyed :snoo_facepalm:

My mom is only ever irritable when we're not around other people. When it's just us, she gets pissed over everything. Yells over everything. Starts slamming things down over small disagreements such as me telling her that no, whatever colour or dress she liked on me, I didn't like it. She then becomes irritable for most of the day.

But when we're around others, she does a complete 180 and suddenly, she's this very caring very attentive mom. She asks me whatever I like while smiling, talks in a soft tone, and acts more interested about me.

I don't like having to deal with both sides of her as if nothing ever happened, and it's stressful.

Ehem, so just as the title says, my(17F) mom has been constantly irritable lately. She snaps at me for the smallest things (talking a bit too loud, moving around a bit too much, forgetting to toss away a snack wrapper that I ate five minutes ago...). I'm already on edge due to the pile of school tasks I have, taking care of my sister, along with finals and senior high graduation coming soon.

I help clean the house often too. Like I wash the dishes, sometimes cook my own meals, sweep the floors, throw the trash away, etc. I just have no clue why she's so pissed at everything lately?

Then she also blamed me for my sister's low grades, telling me that I'll have to be responsible for my sist

This might sound a bit petty, but why on earth is it that my mom will let my sister(10) talk at full volume and play loud music at 7am while I'm(17) asleep? If it's me who's awake and my sister who's asleep during the same time period, I will be expected to hush up and stay quiet so she could "sleep better". I have a bad sleep schedule and often have to stay up for school tasks, while my sister sleeps early. Why is it that they're considerate of her, but not me??

This is a pretty dumb issue, honestly. But I, 17F, have had several people confess to me before. All are my good friends, even now. I even had crushes on them prior to them confessing that they liked me back. They were aware of my feelings too. But somehow whenever they do confess, I suddenly end up being more distant from them. Being less interested in the stories they share. Even avoiding them before I even realize it.

I hate it, because it's ruined a lot for me before I shoved them into friendzone just so I could feel more comfortable. They were fine with it, as well as staying friends, but I'm still stuck here feeling sorry that I keep doing this. I do want to have relationships with t

You know the feeling when you stretch and it doesn't feel satisfying? Feels half done and just... Uncomfortable? No matter how much I continue to stretch, it still feels that way and it sucks. Please help.

This might sound weird but I (17f) just feel so distant from my friends ever since we got to senior high, and most ended up in different schools. Even when we did go out together for meet-ups, a lot are distracted by their phones. That's if the meet-up ever did go through. I tried to make plans to meet them, but more often that not, it's scrapped due to schedule conflicts of because I ended up ignored.

They also leave me on read quite often, even when I ask or talk about something I know they like recently so we could talk more. But somehow, it all just feels superficial now. I tried communicating and mentioning to them several times about how uncomfortable I feel when left on read. But on

I really, really hate my family. They have double standards between me(17f) and my younger sister (8f). They say that "everyone" should help around with the chores at homeβ€” even my sister. But it's really only me that tell to do the chores because she's "busy" playing Roblox. She uses foul words when I would be slapped for doing the same thing. She can insult people, and they'll laugh it off; yet when I so much as cough in their general direction, they'll lecture me on "respect" despite letting her call me names on a daily basis.

I have told them all several times too that I like having my personal space, but they refuse to let me set any boundaries saying I'm "overreacting" and being a bad
