The text is in Norwegian and I just used to Google Translate, so if anyone actually knows Norwegian and sees corrections, please let me know.
For almost two years, the Norwegian media have written about our break with Gjert as coach, and the consequences this has entailed. The background has been described as a family conflict. That is correct. Out of respect for the whole family, we have not wanted to go into the detail

Sorry for the rant but literally what are people doing down there. People driving on the beach and in the actual ocean. Fucking up the sand and the tide pools on purpose. Just anti-social small boto behavior everywhere

First, I’ll put the goodies upfront before getting into the boring nitty-gritty:
3.65, 167, nURM, Ivy-undergrad, 5 years of very unique but not particularly prestigious work experience from a string of contract jobs. D1 athlete with conference-level titles. Unironically likes country music.
Career goals: non-unicorn PI in Hawaii or Montana (born and raised in HI, current MT resident).
I’ve always loved cycle recaps from people who have more “non-traditional” work experiences and also not super duper high stats and so I thought I’d contribute for posterity.

Anyone know whether that google drive with people's full applications is still floating around? I found it super helpful to read through last year and I'd love to contribute if it's still a thing

tg Berkeley likes verbosity bc that's like 80% of my personality
(on a more serious note, I fully didn't expect this and I'm super grateful even if that $300,000 price tag has me feeling like Billy Ray Cyrus)
Also a good reminder to shoot your shot (within budgetary reason!)

Literally so stoked. Makes all those months of radio silence worth it!
Stats: 3.65/167, applied late december. 4+ yrs WE, in-state resident
Looks like I might be buying a vitamin D lamp and moving up to Missoula, we'll see... 👀

Just a quick data point for y'all.
Some stats: Applied 12/15. Above both medians. Resident of a western state (aka eligible for WRGP 150% in-state tuition). Born and raised in Hawaii. $5,000 scholarship (the max amount).
My parents and I were in Honolulu two weeks ago to see Hamilton and we walked around UH. So maybe they saw me and decided it was time. 👀

I just want the flight attendants to say “welcome home” for once instead of “have a good vacation”
