If you were going on a geology vacation, where would you go? Where have you been?

My mom and I like going on geology trips together. We like to look at rock formations and guess what happened before reading interpretive signs. (Some places are definitely easier than others!)

One year we hiked into the crater of Mt. St. Helens. That was probably the best because there was a geologist with us. Another year we went to Iceland. Arizona was pretty rad too.

I'd love to hear suggestions that can be done with a 70-year old who is in pretty good shape. But also, if you just want to brag, that's fine too!

Every year we have to make new goals for work, and every year I just go blank. Sure, there are things I want to learn, but if they're never necessary for an experiment, I can't really make them a goal. Every year, I feel like I'm just making shit up and hoping for the best.

My real goals are things like:

  1. Don't snap at my boss.
  2. Stay on top of lab chores.
  3. Spend more time with flowjo.

But none of those are really measurable. And the first one definitely won't fly.

I'm curious what has worked for all of you.

Hey Plumbers!

I guess I'm thinking specifically of clogged drains, but thought it might be fun to hear about other things too. I saw a sign in a hospital that said, "Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet." and a hand-written note added, "That includes shoes!" Got me wondering about the kinds of stuff you guys must see.

I'm from Portland. Feels like half the city can't sleep because of the ongoing helicopters.

I was just wondering whether this is happening to you too.

Also, good luck with your occupation. If you figure anything out, let us know. Hopefully we can learn some things from each other.

That's about it. Fridge broke down and it might be a few weeks or months until I can either fix or replace it. If my food bill and food waste decreases, I'll wait longer. I'm very curious to see if I can make it work. I eat mostly vegetarian. If I can get away with not cooking, that's even better. (I noticed my place is cooler without a fridge running.) All ideas welcome!

Just figured I'd ask here at reddit.
I found a couple of things online, but I don't necessarily want to limit myself to places that pay for advertising. Willing to pay per appointment. Don't need them to accept insurance.

Have any of you had problems with insurance paying for tests, treatments, medications?

What do you do? Do you just move forward and cross your fingers? What kind of insurance do you have?

What have your doctors recommended for treatment? Does insurance cover it?

Thanks in advance.
