My side hustle in its first year netted about $5k. Its still in the business bank account, and I dont expect to distribute it. It will live in the account for another year.

Do I have to claim this? I feel like Im overlooking something major. TIA, Im new to this and Im better at the business than I am the taxes for it.

This question came up 2 years ago in this sub, but mine is two part: First, anyone having a ski boot sale this weekend/soon? And are the TVS guys still the best in the biz at fitting?

Hi all. Abuse me if this is commonly asked.

Im driving through pulling a small (20 ft) camper, staying at a downtown hotel in late march. I'd like to ditch the camper for the night so I can get around. Thoughts on this? Im considering calling home depot, etc and asking.

Apologies for any idiocy here...

Im awaiting a lease for a retail business that will generate 1-1.5M in sales based on comps and Im struggling with how to structure finance. At a previous business (same type), owner had separate bookeeper and accountant. Bookeeper used QB. How do most of you in this revenue range operate? QB, no bookeeper, accountant? Also curious what your annual expenses relating to each might look like.

For us it will be 2 owner/employees, maybe 300 transactions per year. Brick and mortar. Thanks for any insight.

First, Im so sorry if this a common set of questions...

Considering buying the small business I've been managing, from the owner/founder. Under 5 employees. He's named a price of $1.5M, with $500k due at purchase, and he'd finance the remainder over 10 years. He's beyond retirement age and ready to be done, prompting his offer.

I have excellent credit, and a home worth over $2m. The business has reliably produced net revenues between $300-$400k annually. Lease is good for 18 years.

But about that $500k....What does this sub suggest for financing? I can muster some of my own cash and family $ to the tune of maybe $150k, but Id rather finance the entire 500 and use supplemental investment

Hi all.

I'm seeing conflicting info on the trails to the summit of Mt. Washburn. Some say the access up there is completely closed, other say only the north end of Chittendon Rd parking lot is closed. Anyone know the story over the next few days? I'm aware the main road is closed from Tower to the Chittendon rd. Appreciate any feedback.

I have a packer brisket I was hoping would fit my smoker (vertical electric), but alas it will not.

Im considering a few things. First, cut the thing in half and smoke each half on a different rack.

The other thought is building an addition to my smoker by essentially sliding a box over it/the front door to expand the space enough. Ghetto AF, but if Alton Brown can use a cardboard box as a makeshift smoker, its good enough for me. Until the fire rages out of control, of course.

I've been procrastinating an upgrade on my smoker for more space, but my grill is also on its last legs. Curious what everyone thinks about the hybrid grill/smokers.

Thanks for all this sub does in the pursuit

So...does anyone know, are the gates closed at the state campgrounds? Or can you roll in w no amenities like late/early season in some places?

Im a 20 year Wyoming resident. I add this because Im sheepish about asking, dont want to rouse suspicions that Im CO rolling north. I dont want to be shamed, but I'd also like to get out with my camper and kids and interact with around zero other people, and stand around a campfire for a night.

I also understand if we dont want this info public. Maybe its just year of the BLM.

This town will crater economically if this goes on. Not so much the landlords, but definitely a lot of small business owners and DEFINITELY the service industry staff.

I wish the labor force had more sway over its landholding lords. IMO, it all starts will commercial landlords. If a business owner is crushing it, the landlord just takes more, leaving none for the laborer. Is this just a 'tough shit' existence? Could service professionals in TC ever possibly associate for the purposes of more leverage?
