I saw Payton Tolle's postgame press conference tonight and wanted to know more about his family because of some of the comments he made. This is a pretty heavy article on his mom's long battle with cancer, passing away and his journey, along with how it intertwined with the Red Sox scouting is really well done. Big time tearjerker reading this one

I like this move a lot. Sad to see Bang go but this is the best possible replacement if they didn’t go in a completely different direction. Zander adds a secondary play caller/mid rounder to the group I think they were missing last year in split 2
As for roles, I think the talent trade for Bang is negligible. Both guys have really high ceilings, a little bit different stylistically but both have their strengths and weaknesses. I think Bang is a bit better as a hard anchor site than Zander whereas Zander is a bit more of a playmaker. I think Zander will add more lurks and aggression to the smokes role than Bang

If you don’t know who Purest(Max) is, he was at one time one of the most reliable reporters in the Val scene but took a hiatus for a while. He was always on the money. I take his report to be pretty substantial of Bang to Sentinels

The rostermania speculation will be hot and heavy but there are also a lot of questions around the future of some orgs in the CDL. Right now we're looking at 8 fairly solidified orgs with Optic, Faze, LAT, G2, Surge, Heretics, Cloud9, and Ultra (although I wouldn't be surprised to see an Ultra name change). Then there's the group of "what the hell is going on" orgs
LA Guerillas: The most uncertain and most likely to sell or fold is LAG. They've ceased operations for all other esports outside of LAG. They turned down the opportunity to go to EWC. They've let their players explore all opportunities. It'd be shocking if they are in the league next year, will just be a matter of if they sel

Seems pretty relevant and not very surprising. Very similar situation with Heretics and Misfits last year. I would expect CRR to be sold either with or separately from this deal if it happens. Falcons interest in COD has been pretty well documented, it’d make a lot of sense if the CDL spot was part of the transaction
Other teams to be on the lookout for to sell or even possibly fold this offseason now that all the payouts from Activision have been handed out are Vegas Legion and LAG. I’d be pretty surprised if any of the 3 of those orgs are in the league next year
This is may the most interesting map pool we see so far. 100t’s auto veto has historically been Lotus so that is probably out.
Gen.G doesn’t have an auto veto. They target a map the other team is strong on. They banned Split against Fnatic, Icebox against FPX, and Sunset against Lev. Mind you this was before Fut anti-stratted the hell out of Lev on Sunset and it’s been a very strong map for them. Gen.G has also banned Bind 2 out of their last 3 matches with their 2nd veto. All that said, I’d be very surprised to see Bind be picked.
That would leave us with 5 choices, Sunset, Icebox, Ascent, Breeze, Split.
100t’s shakiest 2 maps are Split and Sunset, they’ll probably use their 2nd ban on

I think the conversation needs to shift from focusing on Activision to now looking a Microsoft's part in Call of Duty Competitive. While Activision made a lot of misguided, head scratching and down right bad decisions with regards to the scene, these past months since Microsoft has become involved have sent the scene into turmoil. Phil Spencer, head of XBox at Microsoft, now is in charge at Activision after it was absorbed under his umbrella. He's been very inolved with Halo competitive and a lot of these moves have his fingerprints all over them. Let's look at the timeline

This looks like it will be really good. Not sure if they have a new editor and/or producer working on this but has a much more raw vibe to it. Last year’s [2100]’s felt very vanilla, this feels like a great step in the right direction. Very excited for this
