I just bought a home and we're trying to do some kitchen stuff before we move in. We need to replace the hood, as the existing one is incredibly old and doesn't function.

The cooktop is located on a peninsula with no cabinets above it.

My problem is that the ceiling height is barely above 7 feet or 86 inches.

Above the ceiling is a pretty spacious crawl space with a few feet to the roof. There's an existing vent stack that goes straight up from the ceiling to the roof.

The only option I've found for a hood is a Zline one with a conversion kit that all in would be like $900 before figuring out any sort of installation costs. Which is outside my price range.

Alternatively, I was wond

I think the foundation of what we're seeing now was laid years ago. It's going to take a while to dig out of this and will require a different approach to drafting players and building an offense. I think it could be argued the Patriots have only made at best a handful of wise decisions on offense over the last half decade.

2018 - Draft Isiah Wynn as the LT of the future.

Wynn flashes at point as a LT, but is often injured and inconsistent when healthy.

2019 - Draft N'Keal Harry over a slew of better WR options.

Fail to draft or develop replacements for Edelman or White.

Trade for Mohammed Sanu

2020 - Cap reset year after Brady.

Trade out of 1st round, missing out on players

Just a thought, but the most telling thing of this draft is that the Patriots and Bill must have a ton of faith in who they have on the roster on the DL and LB corps.

Perkins, Uche, McGrone, Jennings haven't seen much playing time, and outside of some developmental CBs, the Patriots didn't really do anything to address defensive issues. So here's hoping they know something.

So, we're on to the offseason. Sooner than we all would have liked, but it should be an eventful offseason as the Patriots have a number of decisions to make. I wanted to offer some reasoned insight and hopefully start some realistic discussion.

Before anything though, I think it's really important to keep in mind that the salary cap and spending are going to get talked about a lot this offseason. Understand, the Patriots have plenty of money. Right now they're projected to have ~$30m in cap space. But they're projected to have over $100m in space in 2023. They have plenty of flexibility to move some money around in contracts to free up more space. They won't be on a spending spree like la

So I know this has been discussed before around here, but I think Slater's selection to his 10th Pro Bowl is a rather interesting development.

Every player in NFL history to be selected to 10 or more Pro Bowls, with the exception Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Jason Witten, Larry Fitzgerald, and Joe Thomas, has made the HoF. Obviously these players are all pretty much guaranteed to make the HoF.

Were Slater not eventually selected, he'd be the only player with 10 or more Pro Bowls left out. There are a bunch of guys at 9 that never made it in, but none that made it to 10.

Does anyone have any experience with the cross bar roof rack for a CX-5 that doesn't use roof rails?

Any suggestions about brands or anything?

Spotify Issues

Galaxy S20 Mazda CX-5 2021

So I have a new 2021 CX-5 and an S20.

I've noticed that Spotify seems to get hung when reconnecting my phone. It'll work fine with with the initial connection, but once I get in the car again and reconnect, Spotify doesn't want to do anything.

If I Force Stop Spotify on my phone and recconnect it works fine again.

Not a huge issue, just a little annoying. Was just wondering if anyone was experiencing the same issue. Thanks.

I have a new 2021 CX-5. I was just curious is anyone else has experienced issues with Android Auto and Spotify getting hung up. If I connect my phone, Spotify will play seamlessly. But if I get in the car again and reconnect my phone, Spotify seems to get hung up and doesn't react well to trying to change songs, playlists, etc.

If I Force Stop Spotify on my phone and reconnect, it'll work fine again.

It's not a major issue, just a little annoying and I was wondering anyone experienced the same issue.

Dealer 1 - Out the door price is $22,500, Mazda financing at 0.9%. I'd probably put an additional $8k down and finance the rest over 48 months, payments around $300/month.

Dealer 2 - Out the door price is $21,500, but I'd have to finance everything at 2.99% over 63 months.

Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Dealer quote is $30k. I know the market is all over the place right now, as is the used market and the trade-in market and all that.

Just trying to assess if this is reasonable or if I'm likely to see any appreciable difference in 6-12 months.

The two main issues or concerns I've heard and read and surrounding the infotainment display and the cargo capacity?

How do people feel about the infotainment? I've driven a Mazda6 for awhile and I'm used to the idrive system.

Do people feel the cargo capacity is lacking in real world conditions?

Sort of split between the CX-5 and the new Sorento. Any practical insight would be appreciated.

So, I've read through AA3 and while I find the series overall enjoyable, as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be any sort of real, discernible plot.

There's the whole thing about searching for Tristan, but that doesn't seem to actually be super important.

There's some stuff about Visages and whatnot, bit even that seems to be more of a background thing.

Again, I've enjoyed the series but as much as the characters progress, they're seem fairly directionless. Outside of Corin I don't know if we ever get any sort of motivations for anyone.

Understanding Adonalsium [RoW]

SpoilerRhythm of War

So every time a new SA book comes out, I go back and read the previous books to refresh and going through Oathbringer I feel like I'm getting a better understanding of Adonalsium and the Shards.

This might all be beaten to death, but so far as I understand it -

  • Adonalsium exists as some sort of force/God. Not totally clear what it is, but through it some form of Investiture exists through the Cosmere.

  • Some beings get the bright idea to smash up Adonalsium into 16 pieces.

  • Sixteen people pick up various Shards of Adonalsium.

  • It's not totally clear the relationship between the Shard's and the Shardbearers at this point. Each Shard represents a specific attribute or virtue.
