Last year I was hospitalized from Feb. to August due to a brain disease. I was in a medically induced coma for about 3 months and throughout time period I had severe bruxism (something that I have never experienced). The nurses initially taped a piece of hard plastic cylindrical-shaped tool and slipped it into my mouth in order to absorb some of the forces I was applying due to bruxism. Because of this I lost two teeth and cracked two other. After the incident, the hospital offered to make a custom mouth guard for me for about ~$1000.
