I've been doing Ottoman runs since I got the game a few days ago, and I'm wondering whether vassal swarming or direct conquest is better. In my current game, I'm trying to conquer coastal regions and vassalize inland regions, since I know that being coastal helps with proximity and control (well, if you have a fleet, which I don't yet). Is this viable? Also, what are some ways to increase control in general? I've heard that accepting Greek helps, but wouldn't that make my cabinet really inefficient? I ask because I think that's my main problem in these games--I've seen people making over 10 ducats by like 1450, but I'm only making around 2-3 by that point, and my control is really low.

I've played probably 5 Japan games so far, and each time I end up cheating or in a situation with a really bad income deficit or a reactionary government that can't pass the laws needed for the imperial restoration JE. All the guides I can find are months old, for versions 1.9 or before. I've tried building up construction with wood buildings, I've tried building universities, I've tried building factories, but it feels like things aren't moving fast enough. What am I missing?
I’m playing Germany in GFM and trying to build oil refineries in my satellite Romania, but whenever I build one they delete it before it finishes. The resources are there, it starts building, but Romania won’t let them finish. Why are they doing this?
I'm trying to mod the socialist parties of the US in HPM, and one part of that is changing their names. To do this, I made a new party in the proper way in the CSV file, but when I load into my ongoing US game, the socialist party has a name that isn't supposed to show up until 1876. I delineated the name/party changes properly, what am I missing? Code below
party = {
name = "USA_socialist"
start_date = 1848.1.1
end_date = 1876.1.1
ideology = socialist
social_policy = welfare_state
economic_policy = state_capitalism
trade_policy = protectionism
religious_policy = secularized
citizenship_policy = full_citizenship
war_policy = anti_military
}

Anyone else remember the Christmas versions of songs that the music mod used to have? I'm trying to find the Christmas version of Banks of Marble, but the only one I can find is Die Wacht am Rhein on YouTube. Anyone know where to find these, and why they were removed (aside from being out of season, according to one old post)?
I've gotten to the early 1500s twice as Elikhand, on different versions, and both times, Corinite never spawned. For whatever reason, it seems that the Castellos is dead event chain doesn't work when I play Elikhand. In my current game, it's 1522 and there was no Castellos is dead announcement; I fired it manually, but nothing else has happened since.
Manually downloaded the current Steam version from Bitbucket, and I'd like to do another Dhenijanraj game at some point, but last time I tried it (on the Bitbucket dev version several months ago) the corrupt ministry investigation modifiers didn't appear and so I couldn't get any Raj cohesion. Similarly, I've heard that an update on Paradox's end broke the Adventurers Wanted resolution events. Is there any truth to this? I've seen one or two resolution events in my games, but seemingly far too few.
Looking for two Vine clips by the same creator. They’re parodies of a song (whose name I don’t know) and they go something like “oh no, I look just like Derek Jeter/an egg beater”.
I do all the steps to get the TIP to coup, but the event never fires for them to take over. It apparently works fine for the AI, but the last two times I’ve tried to play Roerich Tibet I haven’t been able to get the coup. What’s going on?
I’m trying to play JC3 while my internet is down. It’s fully installed on my computer, and I even played it with no internet yesterday, but today it keeps saying that “for the first launch,” Steam has to be in online mode. Why is this happening, and can it be fixed?
One of the missions requires Azjakuma to be a Slave State, but when I use the subjugation CB on them they’re a regular vassal. How do I make them a SS and get korashi from them again? Is this just something you have to wait to do until you have an ample supply already? Do you conquer and release them?
I can’t see Lang’s control over the party, and I pretty much instantly beat EIEC. Are there some things missing?
I genuinely have no idea why Fuad of Egypt is also King of Albania; it’s funny, but I’d like to know if there’s a canon reason for it.
Edit: game start, not fake start
