6800 XT vs 3070

Hardware/Rigs

Hi guys, does anyone know which of these cards is expected to perform better in iRacing in terms of FPS?

Generally the 6800XT is the better card, but since iRacing is more optimised for Nvidia cards (and SMP), I'm not sure which card I should go for and they are about the same price in my country.

Planning to run triples 1440p.

Hi guys,

I have a good offer on a 6800 XT graphics card, but I noticed it only has 2 display ports and 1 HDMI port, meaning if I want to run triples, one of the monitors would be connected via HDMI.

Can this cause any problems in game? Resolution of the monitors is 1440p and refresh rate is 165 Hz.

With things like Nvidia Surround / AMD Eyefinity / G-sync / Freesync I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with all the things I have to take into account, so if anyone has some useful insights, that would be great.

Hi guys, quick question...

So I've been considering a 49" ultrawide monitor for my setup. There's not a lot of options out there, but there is of course the Odyssey G9 with larger curvature (1000R) compared to most of the other options at normal curvature (1800R). Does anyone have experience with both and able to shed some light on the user experience? I'm wondering if the added curvature really is worth the extra money (plus the slightly higher spec).

Interested to hear your ideas!

Hey everyone,

Lately I've been playing around with the idea of switching from my Fanatec DD1 to a Simucube Pro. I am using a GT1-Evo rig from Simlab and this means I will have to use a different mounting strategy (for the DD I have the side mounts).

Preferably I'd like to have the front mounting bracket from Simlab attached to my GT1-Evo, but the problem is that due to the width of the rig it is not compatible and only works with the P1-X. Upgrading the rig itself is not worth it to me, but I was curious if anyone has any ideas of how I can mount this thing to my current rig with some minor adjustments. I've thought about mounting the verticall aluminium profiles to the si

Whatever happened to the team recruitment megathread? The last one was archived and still visible in the links of this subreddit, but no new one was created?

I'm looking to build a pc with a MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC and I'm not sure which RAM speed to pick.

I'll be pairing it with either a Ryzen 3600 or 3700x. From what I've found, the best match for these ryzen is either 3200 MHz CL14 or 3600 MHz CL16.

Thing is, MSI claims the board only supports up to 3466 MHz, but I'm not sure if that's up to date.

Will 3600 MHz be fine or am I better off getting the 3200?

Sometimes when I press throttle or brake, this input is not being registered and causes me to miss many brake points and crash into walls. This doensn't happen a lot, but enough to get annoying. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, are any fixes known?

I'm looking into going triples and my GPU has 2 DP ports and 2 HDMI ports. Does it matter if I connect 2 monitors to a DP port and 1 to a HDMI port? Compared to having all monitors connected to DP (which would require a new GPU).

So for my build I was almost fully decided on a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max board, since this is highly recommended for a Ryzen build. Now it seems after doing some more research that I might have to choose differently.

I would really like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support and while this can be done with a stand-alone Wi-Fi card, I also found out the Tomahawk Max only supports RGB, while I'm looking to add ARGB fans.

Is it worth ditching the Tomahawk Max to go for something like the Gaming Pro Carbon (which does support all things I need) or do you have some other suggestions on what fits my needs best?

Lastly, is RGB / ARGB compatibility really an issue or are there adapters for that in case I do pi

Hey guys,

I'm looking to include a 1TB NVME SSD in my build and am not sure which of the following to pick.

Currently limited my options to:

- Crucial P1
- Intel 660p series
- Western Digital Blue SN550

Will there be any noticeable difference between any of these or am I better off just getting the cheapest I can get?
