It began Saturday morning, after we set up the kids with snacks and toys and just as I was getting into a Warhammer game with my buddy. A sharp pain jabbed me in my back, halfway up my left ribs. It was sharp enough that I gasped for air, struggled to talk, and could only breathe by wheezing.

Over the following 15 minutes, it became a pain in my lower back that crippled me. I could barely stand up straight. I started alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen, but those did little to restore my range of movement.

The following morning, it had not gotten better. I looked in the mirror and saw that I was standing at a slant and couldn't correct it. My stomach seemed larger than usual, but I chalked i

You don't hate the psychic keyword enough. There are a handful of rules that will buff a faction's psychic weapons, especially among the Thousand Sons. There are many abilities that make psychic weapon attacks worse, between tacking on the hazardous keyword to FNPs to subtracting 1 to hit.

However, after some recent searches of the waha data export documents, there is only one datasheet in the entire game that is more easily killed by psychic attacks, only one with an ability that is weakened or shut off by an attack's psychic keyword.

And it's Magnus.

Maybe it's a reflection of the lore, about Magnus' hubris regarding the warp. Who knows.

Phaerons and Phaerakhs, with the recent buffs to C'tan shards, I would like to remind you of a combo we've known about for a while. Now, with C'tan shards going up to 16 max wounds, it is more beneficial than ever to spam heals on one. The maximum possible healing is the following combo:

  • Starshatter Arsenal Detachment
  • Void Dragon
  • Reanimator
  • Nearby Technomancer

With these four components, in your turn, your void dragon can

  1. Reanimate 2d3 in your command phase
  2. Use its ability on an enemy vehicle within 12", dealing 1d3 mortal wounds and healing for that many
  3. Have a nearby technomancer heal it for 1d3 wounds
  4. Use the Endless Servitude stratagem for 1cp, reanimating for anot

It had been a bloody 1.5 rounds, and while I had established a strong lead, I kept eyeing that unit of 3 deathshroud terminators with Lord of Contagion sitting in deep strike. I did my best to screen them out, but when his rhino fell back and placed my whole core in contagion, I braced myself for the incoming damage.

He deployed, and I overwatched. He had no cp to reduce damage. I shot with the rubric marines first. 1 aspiring sorcerer, 2 surviving flamers, and a soulreaper cannon did nothing. So I shot with the Infernal Master, hoping that his enhancement along with the detachment-wide +1 to wound for that turn would do the trick. The terminators were toeing an objective I did not control

I've been playing tsons casually since 8th edition, but I have an abysmal win rate, and I barely manage to play one game a month. I've watched all the codex review videos I can find, and have been repeatedly listening to the 40k Fireside strategy video but feel that I still need more guidance, especially in light of the recent nerfs.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to learn this faction well enough for casual, but I worry that the only way to learn it is through additional play, and one game a month seems to be all that I can consistently manage.

Does anyone have recommendations for good games or guides to study?

You and I got into a back and forth teamkill spat about 1.5 hours ago.

From my perspective, you shot me without reason and with no chance of it being a mistake, so after respawn, I shot you back. We continued that way for the rest of the match, wiping out reinforcements and failing the mission.

I only realized after the match was over that my voice chat was disabled, not muted, and that you were a playstation player, making chat responses really difficult.

I shouldn't have escalated like that. I should've let it go, split off from the team and gone solo, or just left the match entirely. I decided to be petty. Your first kill might have been justified, too; I just didn't hear you. Perhaps

Their ability mentions adding to their control score if they contest an objective "wholly within friendly territory."

Does the objective have to be wholly within, or just the unit? Different setups have different numbers of wholly within objectives, which is why I wonder.

I have been playing with the idea as a way to harmlessly horrify my friend since our codex came out. Boosting C'tan healing is a good way to demoralize your foes.

Prior to this new detachment, the maximum healing you could put on a C'tan was with the Void Dragon:

  1. Reanimations with nearby reanimator for 2d3
  2. Nearby technomancer for another 1d3
  3. Void dragon ability to drain another 1d3 out of an enemy vehicle

At this point, a disclaimer should be evident: Keeping a reanimator, a technomancer, and an enemy vehicle nearby and alive can be tricky.

The old detachments were unable to boost this further via stratagems:

  • Awakened strat only repeats reanimation when models in the unit d

I'm coming from 40k, where the rule is to select one melee weapon profile to attack with rather than all melee profiles. In Age of Sigmar, the rules are different, and it's brought up a question.

In AoS core rules page 17, it specifies that "the model must attack with all of the melee weapons it is armed with."

This most commonly has a model attack with their melee and their companion's melee, but take for example the Stormcast Lord-Veritant, which has both the Staff of Abjuration and the Judgement Blade.

If one of these models gets a +1 attack buff, does the buff apply to both melee weapon profiles?

I recently ran 30 deathmarks in a hypercrypt list. It was mindnumbingly fun, and while I'm fairly certain I played correctly, I want to ensure that what I did was correct.

  • As long as you deploy outside of 9" horizontally from enemy units, can you deep strike on upper floors of ruins?

I was regularly dropping 10 deathmarks on the top floor of ruins for plunging fire. It's fun when 12 point models get Ap-3 on D2 weapons with minimal effort.

  • Can the monolith's ability (not the Hyperphasic Recall strat) pull friendly units that are locked in combat?

I baited my opponent into climbing a floor with a charge, only to strand him there in my next turn for free.

The game went really well. I w
