I always leave the UI design until towards the end of a larger project. I know if I start with the UI I'll end up finding parts of the system that don't fit the layout, rejig this, tinker with that, rework that bit again... I get too focused on making the UI right when it could be wrong again with the next functional change. I may as well switch individual pixels around.

To solve that, I usually knock up a quick development UI at the beginning, do all the functional work, then look at how the UI/UX makes the functional stuff display and work easily for a user.

That's leaves me in a position where I've been coding and testing in a development UI for months... And then get Stockholm Syndrome

Hi All,

Lets say I have a table which is 100% of it's container div wide. The first two columns are min-width: 40px and then a "th:last-child" with a width of 100% to compress the first two columns to the size of their contents. The td's contain <input type="texts" /> to allow use input.

When a user types in a string that is longer that the previous widest entry in the column - is there anyway to force the browser to redraw the table taking in to account for the new entry? Ideally with plain CSS.

Thanks.

PIP

Hi All,

This week I was put on a performance improvement plan. Ignoring the blatantly obvious it's time to start job hunting situation, I thought I'd post here mainly to get this straight in my own head.

For a bit of background, there was a similar informal meeting about a year ago, that was followed by a glowing performance review, there has been no management discussion about this since... And then suddenly I've been pulled into a PIP meeting and provided a document detailing it. In terms of deliverables I don't think there has ever been a project delayed due to my work.

Some of the issues are true, not having my camera on for customer calls and such, that's not in any staff handbo

In King Charles' speech to Congress this week, near the top of the speech he stated the following:

>As you may know, when I address my own Parliament at Westminster, we still follow an age-old tradition and take a member of Parliament ‘hostage,’ holding him or her at Buckingham Palace until I am safely returned. These days, we look after our ‘guest’ rather well – to the point that they often do not want to leave. I don’t know, Mr. Speaker, if there were any volunteers for that role here today?

As typical of such speeches, the King obviously can't just come out and state exactly what he means, this isn't Trump's truth social.

For such a well written speech, like any poem, the last line, "

This may sound odd, but hopefully someone will connect with what I mean...

Has anyone taken Montelukast (along with Ceterizine & Famatodine) and felt like their brain is unplugged especially while walking? It might not be Montelukast related, that's just the new drug they're trying me on, yay for random meds.

I'm not sure how best to describe it, perhaps if we start with a normal walking process:

- Brain tells legs to move

- Legs move

- Legs tell brain they're moving

- Brain does health checks, balance etc.

It feels like step 3 is missing, someone's unplugged that return loop. Like, the legs aren't telling the brain we're moving and it feels like a passenger in my body. L

Hi guys,

I'm curious how you define "brain fog"? The term makes sense to me, but, it also doesn't seem to fit quite right.

For me, it's not so much a cloud muddying my brain, rather an overstimulation. Like someone has put my brain in to neutral and rammed the throttle open, it's revving but not driving the wheels. My brain seems to spin like an out of control Ferris wheel, the complicated thoughts waiting to grab a seat and get processed simply can't get on board, it's spinning too fast.

The simple thoughts might have a chat to the others in the queue, watching the wheel spin faster and faster, they may even make a decision. But if the trip on the wheel is needed to figure things out,
