I'm trying to design a semi-realistic world in which human-piloted 10-20 meter tall armed bipedal robots are the main fighting machines. Similar to Battletech/Mechwarrior.

In the real world, the main fighting machines are tanks. Presumably, tanks are effective because they have a low profile/silhouette/center of gravity for concealment and stability, and their treads create a continuous and high-friction connection with the ground.

Bipedal robots seem like they'd offer the opposite, in addition to being much more mechanically complex.

I'm not a mechanical engineer, so I'm struggling with ways that would make anyone design a mech instead of a tank.

In your world, how and why are M

After the recent amazing game between Alliance and C9, I thought it'd be fun to create a new draft for the losing team (C9) that would bring them victory in your mind.

☟

Game details (if you want a reminder)

AdmiralBulldog and the rest of Alliance carried out split pushing so effective and relentless that C9s draft of late-game carries and supports could barely break free even after an hour and 20 minutes of fierce and skilled defense. Towards the end of the game, the 8-slotted Nature's Prophet used summons, necrobooks, and manta styles illusion to slowly overrun the dire base. C9 didn't have enough lockdown to stop Alliances mobile hero

When Batrider is discussed, people bring up the fact that despite a steady stream of nerfs every patch, he always seems like a popular pick/ban in competitive.

On the flip side of that coin, heroes like Broodmother/Necrophos/Ogre Magi receive buff after buff but are perpetually ignored in the pro scene.

In reddit comments, I've heard people say certain heroes need a "rework".

My questions are: What exactly is a hero rework? Has there ever been a hero that has had their abilities dramatically changed by Valve so much that they (for example) switched from a support to a carry? At what point does a hero need bigger changes than just +1 armor or lower cooldowns?

I'm not looking to start a highschool-level political debate. I'm not interested in "pro-MURICA" responses and I'm also equally uninterested in America-bashing. I'm honestly curious about geopolitics.

France has one of the biggest airforces in the world. The combined arms of the UK, France, Germany, and the Scandinavian countries would be incredibly formidable.

Issues like Israel, Syria, etc. seems just as relevant to European democracies as the US. Even more so considering so much of the land was former European colonies. The historical ties between Europe and other places in the world seem much more concrete.

Doesn't Europe have (even a small) responsibility to areas of the world shaped
