My father loves to paint, and I love to make things with my wood lathe. I thought I would make him a few brushes. I know how to make a handle and ferrule. My question is how do I get fibers to make the strands of the brush? What are some of the natural sources, and some of the artificial? I suppose I could just go to Home Depot and buy a house painter's brush for bristles, would that work?
Now, I live in horse country, so I am sure I can talk some friends at church into letting me have a few strands of a horse's mane. Are there any other recommendations?
I made him a proportional divider using walnut sap and heartwood, but I don't know if he uses it very much. He may not use these brushes
The city cut down a very large Red Eastern cedar tree at the park and I managed to score some large sections of trunks. Yes, it is very aromatic.
When first cut, the wood is a shocking, brilliant red. There are also gorgeous white swirls that ripple through the wood. Perfect for turning, right?
Well, the problem is when the sand paper comes out. It really surprised me when this dazzling red goes drab and blah so fast.
I mostly turn pecan, hackberry and walnut with a little maple thrown, and usually the more I sand the hardwoods, the better and shinier the piece gets. I supposed it is the saw dust, but even when I try to go over it with a damp cloth it stays so much darker than when I o
To put it simply, I really don't like having to deal with health kits in Doom. The Call of Duty health system is worse, but having to stop combat to run away and find a pickup isn't great either. The way Ultrakill works is pretty much what I'm looking for, but a few cursory searches didn't turn up much of anything.
TL;DR giv ultrakill health system with doom mod
Not really happy with my Nova Cole Jaws right now. To me, the standard set of the grey rubber bumpers that come with the jaws don't grip very well. Does anyone have any experience with the "upgraded" bumpers that come here https://www.woodcraft.com/products/nova-6030-cole-jaw-buffer-accessory
Or does anyone have experience with these grips?

I'd love to get a vacuum chuck, but I don't know if it fits my Har
I was able to get TF|2 on sale on PC, and I was curious about whether or not I could transfer the progress I've made on my Xbox [Kills, Executions, Elite Weapons, Elite Titans, etc]. I doubt that there is any, but I thought it might be worth a try at the least.
I am still using my original lathe, the Harbor Freight 12x33, and have long since needed to upgrade. The original goal is to save for the Laguna 18 36, but with my current rate of savings, I'll have to wait until next Black Friday to get it.
So, it may be possible to get a lightly used Nova 1624 for considerably less than full retail. Not super thrilled about having to manually switch the belt - but having to mess with the quirks and limitations of the Harbor Freight lathe is starting to detract from the enjoyment of the hobby. Are there any glaring problems with the Nova that previous owners would caution me from getting it?
I've been turning for a couple of years and am very displeased with how some of my older pieces have become quite yellow. The finish I was using is "Shine juice", or 1/3 Zinser Shellac, 1/3 Boiled Linseed Oil and 1/3 Denatured Alcohol. Some of the bowls now after 3 years look like they were dipped in honey mustard.
Now I make my own shellac using the lightest blond flakes I can find, Tried and True Danish Oil Finish (Polymerized Linseed Oil, no heavy metal hardeners) and 90% ethanol Denatured Alcohol.
The new recipe doesn't smell like cancer, and it does look lighter in color, but I'm still afraid of yellowing as time goes on.
So, wizened masters of the lathe, what finish do you use so
Actually, that title's a bit of a misnomer. I don't think there should be a grapple class per say, but it should be a standard pilot tool. There's a lot of utility in the other classes, but everybody and their mom is running grapple, because it's simply the best. Why would I use Cloak or Pulse Blade, when I can get across the map with one use of an ability?
This is my idea; Give one grapple charge for all pilots.
Movement is what makes Titanfall such an interesting game. I don't think anyone is going to disagree that grapple is the king of such movement, so instead of taking the crown, give it to everybody.
^(That, and I wanna see some pulseblade+grapple montages)
^(^sorry ^for ^t
TL;DR in the title.
I'm inexperienced in buying specific pieces, and I wanted to go about this the fastest, cheapest way possible. I've heard about buying directly from Lego and Bricklink, but I wanted to ask more experienced users first. Mind giving me a couple pointers?
I guess she didn't like the heartware.
