My friend has an Indian Passport with no surname.

In the passport, the name is as below:
Surname:
Given Name: John Doe

The German Consulate states to write the Given Name as Surname in case there is no Surname:
Surname/Last Name: John Doe
Given Name/ First Name: John Doe

And I contacted Emirates Support, and they said to write:
Surname: John Doe
Given Name: FNU

Has anyone been in the same scenario, because I want to write whatever the issued VISA has. Or has anyone travelled with FNU in their ticket to Germany without facing any troubles ?

I live in a WG (shared flat) with two roommates. The previous flatmate who was registered for the Rundfunkbeitrag (radio/TV license) has moved out, so I took over and registered myself. I received confirmation by post that I am now registered.

Now, my other roommate also tried to register, and I got a post saying someone is trying to register with my Radio number and he also received a letter stating that someone is already registered with that number, and he can't use it.

When you first move in, you usually get a letter with a code that allows you to register under someone else’s account. But in this case, what should we do? How can my roommate officially be added or associated with the e

I have public health insurance and recently booked an appointment with a doctor through the DoctoLib app. I went to the clinic, filled out a form, and then had a checkup where the doctor did a general exam, gave me a flu shot, and asked me to come back in a week for blood test results. When I went back, she said everything looked good, and I mentioned another issue I wanted checked. She then gave me an Überweisungsschein (transfer slip) for a specialist.

Here are my questions:

  1. Does this doctor now count as my Hausarzt since they have my details on file?
  2. Can I use this Überweisungsschein at any clinic where the specialist is available, or is it tied to a specific clinic?
  3. How

I've come across a situation at a company in Germany that I find puzzling. They’re asking employees to resign voluntarily and offering close to half a year's salary as severance. The reason? They apparently don’t have enough projects to assign to people and are tight on budget.

My question is: if budget constraints are the issue, why not just lay people off directly? I understand that Germany has strict labor laws that make firing employees challenging, but in this case, the lack of work and budget seems like a valid reason. How can they afford to pay severance if they can’t afford salaries? And why would they prefer voluntary resignations over layoffs?

  1. I need to complete a First Aid Course as part of the requirements for converting my driving license. Am I allowed to take the First Aid Course anywhere in Germany, or does it need to be in the region where my city registration is done? The schedules and availability in a nearby city work better for me than in my city, so I'd like to know if that would be acceptable.
  2. For the driving license process itself, is it possible to complete it in a different state or district? I live right on the border of my state, and there are many driving schools from the neighbouring state, which would be much more convenient for me. Do I have to get the license done in the city where I have my city regist

I have recently purchased an Ikea Brimnes Wardrobe (https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/brimnes-kleiderschrank-3-tuerig-weiss-40407922/). I want to add two more shelves, one on the small side and the other above the clothes hanger. But I am not able to find the shelf with the dimensions. They are unique dimensions (Small (W x L in cm): 37 x 47, Long: 75 - 47 )and no one sells them. Any solution to this will be appreciated. Or have I missed something that Ikea is selling?

PS: I do not have any wood-cutting tools, so I can not get a piece of wood and cut it.
