Despite having done Parkrun on and off for over 10 years I've only just got around to downloading the app and had a look through the different challenges. I wondered why there wasn't a UK city challenge; does its absence mean there are cities in the UK without a Parkrun? If so which cities are these?

This is just out of curiosity. The chances of me ever visiting every city to do a Parkrun are very slim!

Can anybody tell me if the German digital version of the magazine has pattern pages with layers allowing you to print just the patterns you want? I’ve only bought the physical magazine in the UK but I would love to skip the tracing of the multi pattern pages!

Over on the other peri sub I’ve regularly read people saying not to apply oestrogen gel to the same body part every day.

I’m just wondering if this is true and if so why it might be?

My dr didn’t tell me to do this and it’s not mentioned in the patient information leaflet or any official guidance from the NHS that I’ve read.

I apply one pump to each inner thigh daily. To avoid two days in a row I’d have to use my upper arms but I find that I have more adverse side effects (feeling caffeine high and nauseous) when applying to my arms. Maybe because I don’t have as much fat on my arms compared to my thighs.

Has anybody else experienced more painful periods on HRT? I’ve been on 1 pump gel and 14 days of 200 micrograms progesterone for 2 months. My cycles are short (23 - 25 days with an occasional 35+ thrown in to keep me on my toes) so I start prog on day 12 but my period so far has started before ending the prog dose and they are incredibly painful and for longer.

Obviously I’ll discuss with my doctor at the 3 month review, just looking to see if others have experienced this too.

I'm returning to HRT because my night sweats have reached a point where they're severely disrupting my sleep. I first tried it just over a year ago when my night sweats were only around my period but quit because the oestrogen made me feel way over-stimulated like I'd been drinking way too much coffee. Now the night sweats are every night and I cannot get back to sleep afterwards. I'm so tired! I'm having regular periods but shorter cycles so seem to still be producing some oestrogen of my own but it is dropping at night giving the night sweats.

Does anybody find that the timing of when they apply the gel affects the feeling of being wired and helps improve sleep?

Does anybody have the email address for the Science (UG) Student Support Team? I just graduated from Environmental Science and need a reference. I've filled in the request a reference form but I also need to include an email address on my application. The OU reference information page says to use the details of Susie Hancock which I have, and to use the Student Support Team address on a page that just goes to a contact form with no address. The deadline is before the OU opens again so I'm hoping one of you knows the SST email address!

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

For those of you who went on to do a PhD after your OU studies without a masters in between, how did you get the required two academic references? The OU has told me they only provide one via the central referencing system. I contacted my two level 3 tutors and one says she is only able to provide a reference as part of the central reference system which will contact relevant tutors for their contributions, and the other says she will provide a personal one if she is allowed to do so but it won't be as detailed as the PhD admissions would probably require because of the nature of OU distance study.

Was an OU reference a barrier to your PhD application?

A red van has been dumped and burned out in Treeton (S60) behind my house. It's a red Ford van, looks like it was nicely converted inside and full of camping and possibly some climbing gear. I have photos but it makes my house too easy to ID. If you've had a van stolen recently and it might be yours, DM me your reg and I can confirm. It's very much not salvageable I'm afraid. I don't have any camera footage but some of my neighbours have cameras so may be able to help with IDing who did this. They most likely disappeared in to the woods behind though.

My doctor (who admitted that she isn’t super knowledgeable on HRT as they aren’t offered training or support) started me off on HRT. She prescribed 1-2 pumps oestrogel and 100mg prometrium taken days 14-28. I always read about new medication before taking it because of medical anxiety and the recommended dose for cyclical progesterone appears to be 200mg. Has anybody else been started at 100mg cyclically? I guess I need to go back, I just find dealing with the doctors at my local practice to be super frustrating.
