Disclaimer, I'm speaking for men in their twenties, because I am familiar with the dating experiences of men in their twenties. I don't drink so I do have a blind spot as far as bar game goes.

Online dating advice circles are filled to the brim with people who have no idea what survivor bias is. "I found my partner this way, therefore anyone who isn't a smelly misogynist can too, and anyone who cannot must be a smelly misogynist"

Like it or not women are significantly more exclusive than men, I understand why, but that's not important. Any given mixed gender friend group most of the time will have more men. Women in this age group are twice as likely to be partnered up than men, again, I'

I already use italics to signify internal thought. I was thinking maybe bolding it and/or detatching it from the rest of the passage.

The man ran into the room

Boom

The hidden land mine went off

It just looks goofy to me. I'm trying to think of what professional authors do but I can't think of a single time because I never really thought to remember it.

It's kind of strange. My siblings and I would always be color coded when possible, sister gets pink, brother gets blue, I get green. I couldn't even tell you if those are their favorite colors still, even growing up. They'd wear pink and blue every now and then but it could very well have been a gendered thing. As adults its always black or some arbitrary colored shirt that they thought looked nice in the moment. I've always worn green, I have plenty of other colors but I've always been the primarily green dude.

Out of nowhere there's like this huge debate if bonnets are ghetto or not, I feel as if up until like a week ago this was only something someone who hated black people would say, now I'm seeing multiple black content creators talking about how ghetto bonnets are in public.

I figured being a brown guy I'd be at a disadvantage in a majority white city, I have not had any good experiences with the handful of WOC I've found here either, I just saw how everyone was having so much trouble dating and with the user demographics of dating sites I figured I might just be ugly. Earlier this week I went a couple states over to a more diverse city and just for the hell of it opened my dating app and I'm just getting bombarded with likes, and these aren't just bottom of the barrel, some of these ladies would be tens in my city. Blew my mind of course. I don't even know what to take from this but I figured I'd share.

I couldn't find any basic black tanks anywhere of decent quality so I just decided to bite the bullet and order them online and they come in, to the surprise of none, feeling like cheap plastic. It's frustrating how shoddy everything seems to be.

I know firsthand there's a lot of nuance required when putting someone's humanity on the hot seat for what is practically a thought exercise so if your first instinct is to get angry I understand but please look at something else and leave me alone.

I live in the states so obviously this doesn't affect me directly but this is like the right's best argument across the board and for good reason, it feels like nobody can answer this honestly. The fact of the matter is US immigrants are not violent or dangerous statistically, even if they were we wouldn't even have to deal with them outside of the occasional walmart scuffle. UK immigrants tend to come from more blatantly misogynist conservative

I wish the worst fate imaginable to whoever made porn free and accessible. There's no fucking reason I should have been exposed to that shit at twelve years old. I just feel like I'm irreparably damaged and I never got a chance to connect to romance and dating in a healthy light. Maybe I'm just scapegoating but all I can think about is how shitty and perverted I became and I don't even feel like I ever had an actual crush on anyone and sometimes I feel like I can't. I've been fucking jacking off just about every day since then and every time I just want to blow my head off.

Only one type of handsome

Just venting, no advice

Anyone else worn down by the "I see so many hot women every day but barely any hot men" rhetoric? It's really been affecting my self esteem. I feel like there's only one way a man can be hot when there's so many different flavors of hot women. I get it, you know get off the apps, but I would feel awful if people looked at me as an example of the "ugly guy with hot girl"

I don't know what I want, I know not everyone can be attractive but I just needed to say it.

Everytime I get a message like this I'll just return the energy with like a "what's up" or something. You know something easy that gives them something of a prompt and then boom, nothing.

My first thought was why even match in the first place if you didn't want to talk to me, but could they really be expecting something that I just didn't do?
