I've seen people claim recently that its possible for Uma to have human mothers. But is there any evidence of this?

From what I've seen people point to two sources for this claim, the opening explanation of that appears at the start of season 1 (and every part of the franchise after s1) or references to an interview about season 1.

But upon checking those two sources it looks to be a case of fandom discussions turning one thing into another as people talk about their memory of somthing.

Seeings as there has been a few Sad Puppy related posts around here, and 'forced diversity' is something that some people like to shout a lot in relation to everything from games to movies, I thought that some of you might like to read David Mack's fantastic response to a puppy nominated fan writer.

Essentially Mack was accused of forcing diversity into Star Trek and in the process breaking Star Trek canon. He goes on to show how ridiculous of a claim this is. His initial response about why diversity is important (that he links to in that essay) is also well worth the read.

So what would make it into your ideal fantasy book?

What kind of characters? Heroic farm boys or Morally questionable street urchins?

A setting inspired by standard fantasy or something completely bizarre and unimaginable?

Fate of the world plots or something a little more low key?

Today I decided that one of my main characters was not working and some changes were needed. One such change was her profession, it needed to be replaced.

This got me thinking about what unusual or less common professions I would like to see. My short list ended up including things like, Sculptures, Cartographers and Philosophers.

So what is a profession that you would like to see portrayed in fantasy?

With all the recent discussion over whether or not a certain moment was/is canon, I got a thinking about 'head-canons'. So what moments from either series have you changed or added too?

For me its Raava and Vaatu. I don't like them being Good/Evil. So I head canoned them into becoming spirits of Order/Harmony and Chaos/Change.

The latest Dragon Age Inquisition live stream showcased pc gameplay using mouse and keyboard.

The stream starts 4 minutes in.

Its worth watching if you are interested in or have been concerned about how the game will play with mouse and keyboard. The first half of the stream deals with introducing the Inquisitions specialists and showing of the war table.

The gameplay part of the video starts around the 28 minute mark. It shows a few small fights with the Knights Enchanter specialization, but its main focus is showcasing how the game will play on pc.
