As I approach my goal weight, I am reassessing my final outcomes. I was going to hit goal and then try to add 5 lbs of muscle. Now I am thinking that I want to stay my goal weight, but lower my BF%, and I am struggling to find a good plan for that since it is neither a bulk nor a cut. Anyone have any ideas? Or does it make more sense to drop another 5 lbs and bulk to my goal weight?

archive.is/KIqy0This has been vexing me because it is a very common thing I bump into socially. For example, tonight we went with friends to this nouveau Japanese place (think cilantro and hamachi). 4 of us split 6 dishes, including dessert. How do you log things when it is easy to lose track (3 or 4 agadashi tofu cubes, how much poke salad was in that bowl and how much did I have), especially since it is social and I don't want to whip out my phone to log every bite (not that I would remember to because I get engaged in the social). I am pretty sure what I ate was more than what I needed because I am full now, but how much more is ??? (plus side is I over ate on freaking amazing raw fish, seaweed, tofu, an
Sorry for asking another stupid question twice in the same week.
I noticed this morning that the definition of my quads is less even though I have not gained inches or pounds. I have also noticed that I am not building strength when I do high resistance on ellipticals/stairs as fast as I was, and suspect that I am losing muscle mass as well as fat. I really want to at least keep what I have until I hit my goal weight, after which I might want to build more muscle, so I have a few questions:
- What is the best way to maintain muscle when cutting calories?
- What exercises can I do that require no equipment (I am going to be in the field most of the summer)? And what should the frequency
This is half advice and half whining. I am trying to get from my current BMI of 23.9 to BMI 22 (or to 130 from 141.2 at 64.5 in as a 41 year old woman) after losing about 20 lbs. These last 10 lbs are really coming off slow because I can't aim for an intake that drops 2 lbs a week anymore (my intake target would be 558 if I tried) and there seems to be less of a margin for error. Right now I am aiming for 1200/day (slightly active) and not logging exercise at all (I do 1-1.5 hours of cardio 5 days a week and usually get a hike in on weekends). I have not been losing a pound a week, though, more like 0.2-0.5, probably due to inaccurate intake estimates. I am often on work travel and have to
I know this is a dumb question, but this is something I tell myself when I am exhausted to motivate myself to do my workout. Even if the answer is no, I am going to keep telling myself it is true to keep myself from slacking
I have two questions:
-
I sometimes get stumped calculating activity level. I work out at moderate intensity 5 days a week, but am only casually active on the other 2 days and can't figure out if I should use "lightly" or "slightly" active. For reference, I use Sailrabbit

How often do you recalculate your TDEE? Every pound lost? Every 5 lbs? When you stall out?
