Honestly, it’s a bit weird returning and seeing that. I’ve noticed it last week with some personality tests and then this week with Spotify…

Why do (aka create) individually focused versus actual groups discussions on these topics? Reddit was made to have forum based discussions, and the act of this (individual posting) seems more upvote-based for individuals. Just seems to fracture discussions by the nature of it and spam the subreddit.

Honestly, just curious.

Mental Health Awareness Month

Hello everyone, this May, r/infj will be doing community posts focusing on Mental Health as a part of Mental Health Month. We want to focus as a community on how you manage your mental health and stress, your personal experiences with it, and how we can help improve our own mental health while also helping others.

We’ll be following some of the prompts from Mental Health America, while also throwing in some additional talking points related to MBTI. Throughout the month, I’ll update this post to capture all of the links, and the new mods will update the wiki to help serve as a community resource.

What is Mental Health? It’s important to real

Congratulations to u/kopfler, u/AbstractYeti, and u/Arctur!!!

They are our first round of new mods! We're excited to have them join the mod team! Collectively they represent different time zones, different modding experiences, and therefore, different perspectives. They can introduce themselves in the comments!

We are also still looking for more moderators, particularly, in European and Asian timezones. You can learn how to apply here.

With that being said, I also wanted to say goodbye to you all. **I wanted to thank you for letting me be your mod for the last 2.5 years. I’m g

I thought this is really interesting, (especially coming from a site that seems to write about the type stereotypes quite a bit.)

One of the reasons trying to learn cognitive functions is important is it allows us to talk about types in exactly how they perceive and interact with the world as a whole in a defined, exact way. However, when we talk about general feelings and actions away from functions, can lead to the more horoscope-like MBTI.

I think this gets worse when we add in mistypes, which I think distorts with how some types and functions are perceived. (T

Hi everyone,

We wanted to thank everyone for participating in a trial of rule changes in how r/infj is moderated. We understand it was a learning curve for mods and users alike to move certain topics to daily threads, and we truly appreciate your patience. These changes have allowed us to focus more on the INFJ personality type and MBTI typology, but still allow a portion of the sub to talk about other topics and seek advice from other INFJs.

However, after experiencing it, and based on your feedback, we feel that daily changing topics may be a bit too hectic. To make posting these rules easier to follow, and to make sure topics get the highlight t

Happy October!

I'm curious, fellow INFJs (& Others), what are your favorite horror and suspense books, movies and shows? Let's share our favorites here so we have another reason to enjoy ourselves indoors and not leave the house. ;)

Article: Studying Barn Owls to Better Understand ADHD

I thought this was interesting, connecting brain processing to ADHD, mainly through studying how some brains limit information. I haven’t really seen too much research using owls as a cognitive study model, though neuroscience isn’t my field. I think it’s interesting this could be a line of research for disorders that deal with over stimulation of sensory information. Though I’m not sure what

Hi everyone! Last spring we talked a lot about about managing stress, your physical, emotional, and mental health, and striving to your goals in a healthy manner. We know these topics are important to the community so we wanted to continue this discussion in relation to the upcoming school year.

Many of the subscribers here are in high school, undergrad, or some sort of graduate school. (Or maybe you have people in your lives this applies to!) This can be really stressful as you balance work, school, and personal responsibilities on top of a social life. It's important to have a plan and set goals early, especially if you know school can cause you stress or affect your mental health.

So, w

I was getting ready to start thinking about my July Goals this week when I ran into a good INTJ friend. She was talking about how she needed to focus her energy on certain goals to be truly effective and how that required her to not focus on some areas at the moment. While this of course involved some wonderful INXJ complaining, it also opened a discussion on her current theory of interest: The Four Burners Theory.

Basically, if our life is a stove top, there are four burners in the basic model: Family, Friends, Work, and Health. You can half-ass all four, but its pretty much impossible to make four excellent dishes while tending to the others--

LGBTQIA Pride Month

Community Post

Hi everyone, this month is widely recognized as Pride Month (more on that later). I wanted to share some information I learned about Pride Month, some resources, and then if people want, to have a conversation about what their sexuality or gender identity means to them. We don't always have these discussions on the sub, but being open about our experiences can be freeing. Members of the LGBT community are also 3 times more likely to face a mental health problem generally related to major depression or generalized anxiety. A lot of this relates to feeling on the outskirts of society, dealing with prejudice, and struggling to come out to peers. I ha

June Goals

General

What are your goals for June? As always, feel free to share whether your goals are for self-improvement, school, work, or even to plan a summer getaway.

Remember, the goal is to make goals you can measure and assess. Instead of writing “I want to spend more time outside this summer” try “I want to do one outside activity each week” etc.
