For context, I'm currently titrating up on Vyvanse - and am at 40mg right now (2nd week).

One of my issues right now (common as I understand it) is that most of the day the appetite suppression is there, and I tend to eat relatively smartly and nutritiously at regular intervals.

But, when the Vyvanse departs around 8pm, (even if I'm full after dinner and I've eaten well all day) the 'bad decision' switch just flicks on, and I spend the rest of the night preoccupied, and rummaging around looking for salty snacks, sweets, and booze. There have even been a couple of times over the last month where my brain's woken my up at 2am, and refused to let me go back to sleep unless I go and hunt down

Heya folks :) IP here hoping you're all having a lovely day and are either busily practicing the all-important chord progression 1-4-5, or buying your eleventh instrument of the afternoon (whatever brings you the most joy).

As some may be aware, last year I got fed up and added an informal contextualisation (notifying using a mod post like this rather than formally updating the wording) to Rule 4. No memes, please outlining that posts aligned to the subject 'Is playing with a pick bad?' would be removed under Rule 4.

This was because these tiresome posts tended to be circular and unproductive, but - most pertinently - allowing them sent a silly message; effectively that there was a va

I'm 11 days into 30mg Vyvanse and I've noticed today my first real drop off in efficacy.

I am still vaguely focused, and awake, but in comparison to prior days where I was basically the god of productivity, today is the first day I've seen "old me" - someone who gets distracted and inefficient - return to the surface. I also notice I'm stimming and fidgeting again, and some stress and anxiety is starting to poke its way through the stimulation to be 'on my mind' again.

Part of me was actually worried about how big the change the Vyvanse made was initially (in this last week or so I've done more work in every domain than I've done at all, on anything, in months).

Like, I could tell - eve

To set the scene, I started a project idea where I decided that I'd make a corny punk record that 15 year old me would have loved.

I've started songwriting and drafting, but I've noticed that while some songs are hitting the mark of being genre-aligned to bubblegum skate punk (where I was aiming), many of the ideas are coming out off-genre enough to be jarring. I've got songs that are shaping into alt or yob-rock, there's some stuff that's a bit too riff/fuzz focused. There's a ballad that's not that punk at all.

I showed my main songwriting partner where I was upto to get some advice and he was like "Dude, these songs are clearly for separate projects and that's fine". But, that doesn't

Hello. I'm seeking what will hopefully be a simple recommend as requirements are pretty modest.

Currently running Google home in most rooms and am considering relying on it more now that Gemini seems to be rolled out here in Aus and functioning well.

There are two IoT activities I want to be able to handle remotely or by voice activation; and I'd like one hardware device that could do these things in one room. The requirements are:

  • Control a Mitsubishi aircon; on or off is compulsory with changing settings as an ideal.
  • Turn a hisense TV on and off.

I see quite a lot of devices that seem to be universal remotes but I don't know if they'll talk well to the Aircon. There seem to be bespo

I'm an HX Stomp user thinking of upgrading to Stadium for Agoura and expanded utility, but I'm a bit perplexed.

The non-XL Stadium has a single instrument level input which seems like worse IO than the HX Stomp which has two inputs.

My standard use case for live work is doublefisting bass guitar and a Korg which both go into the HX, get balanced onboard before getting sent mono to the house on the way out.

From what I can tell for my use-case, if I don't want to use up the stereo return IO into a block as a hack or use a pre-Helix ABY box, I have to buy the Stadium XL.

At these price points (both are well north of $3000 here in Aus) the entry model having worse IO than the cheapest item

Sorry if this is obvious guys but I'm finding it hard to google. Even at 100% mix the pitch blocks (all of them, like Simple, Poly, Poly Capo etc.) are all letting through original tuning signal creating unwanted harmony.

I can't figure out how this is possible because 100% mix should be unambiguously 100% mix (no dry going through).

Is this A. how it is and in the case of these blocks 100% mix is not 100% mix or b. Is there a setting somewhere else that I'm not aware of that's causing this?

For clear context, I'm just using the HX as my brain straight into a single desk channel and into monitors going Mono in from the Guitar and Mono Out from the HX. There's nothing onboard or outboard t

I've just been sent a new colleagues elearn to review and simplest put, it's not his elearn. It's ChatGPTs in its entirety.

I can't see evidence of him having even read the materials - or if he has he hasn't corrected anything an experienced educator or course author would have spotted. The course has no academic integrity, no point of view, no useful throughline, no humanity, and about as much pedagogical value as a burlap sack full of unused Christmas ham left out in full sun.

Beyond being extremely offended, because for better or worse I still do all my own writing (and for personal reasons - this guy was overpromoted alongside me because he's 'shiny' and beloved within the org) the ch

I'm maybe a really messed up dude, but I just got a brutal skin fade which has exposed just how terrible my scalp psoriasis is.

But, while it looks devastating today, I know that the skin being exposed will let me nuke these fucking lesions into orbit with Enstilar, in a manner you just can't facilitate when there's hair in the way.

The barbers are always like "Look man, we're really sorry, that looks pretty rough" and I usually have to explain to them why it's a good thing and that they've actually helped.

Now I'm smugly sitting on my couch practically bathing in cortisone foam. I give these patches 72 hours tops.

I've just started receiving push notifications from Untappd, recommending that I go buy a particular beer to earn a particular badge. I cannot remember any period where this has happened while using the app, so I want to know if this is a new feature or if somehow I've had notifications turned off and that this practice has been going on and I've only just become aware of it?

If this is new, this is very troubling to me. We all accept that Untappd gamifies drinking, but it's always been (for me at least) something I've engaged with after I've independently decided to go for a drink.

It's never before suggested to me that I should go get a beer, and today at 11am the app is like "Hey why d

As a single-player only HUT player, I hate Cup Chase and I'm confused why everyone else seems to think it's better than Squad Battles. Here's what I hate:

  • Fixed 2 min periods mean that you don't feel like you're playing a game of hockey. You don't need to roll 4 lines and if you go 2 in the hole unless you're very skilled or have ways of cheesing goals, you're not getting the comeback.

  • Your AI goalie seems tuned to let 1 in ~5 shots in to make sure you're constantly under pressure, which doesn't reflect the capability of an NHL goalie and makes the whole thing feel stupid.

  • The AI squads you're playing with aren't constructed in fun ways like you used to see in 25 playing against oth

I hate Amazon. I don't want to order stuff to my house. I want to support local businesses. But how the fuck am I supposed to do that if that business bites me every time I try to support them, by not actually having the thing in stock that their website says they have in stock.

And to be clear I'm not talking about websites that say 'low stock, call to check'. I'm smart enough to know that means they probably have one item and that the staff will have no idea what cabinet they dropped the fucking thing behind.

I'm talking about shops that clearly say they have a thing on the website at high stock and you go over there and the people working there go 'yeah look sorry maaaan. I guess uh w

I work full time and I have a packed weekend. I saw friends last night and I had sparring booked this morning and an afternoon thing today, a date tomorrow, then seeing family in the evening. Positive, normal, healthy life stuff, because I am trying to enjoy my finite existence. It's the sort of weekend an extrovert would be doing cartwheels over.

But, after a busy week of work engaging with others, the first very tame social occasion last night (relax over cards, a cup of tea, and home by 11) had my battery at 0% to the point where I couldn't find the puff to get up and go boxing. I've been lumping around the house trying to find the energy to get organised to go to my next thing and I'm j

Title basically, but with some caveats. My current stage footprint is bass guitar and Minilogue XD on a keyboard X (single tier).

I want to incorp the KO2 in, in a manner where it'll be safe, stable and accessible somewhere near my key rig and mic stand - but it's starting to become a bit of a tricky fustercluck as I'm now looking to organise 3 instruments within range of both my vocal mic and my pedalboard (where I aggregate all 3 instruments into my Helix, then out to my DI for the desk).

I'm thinking maybe an Ipad stand or clip of some sort is the best bet, but I'm curious to see what other live KO players use. Thanks in advance.
