Good morning ya’ll,

I somewhat recently earned my BS in Accounting (Sept 2024) and have been actively seeking an entry-level accounting position. I’ve had a few promising interviews, but opportunities have been limited for me due to the fact that most roles on Indeed require 2–5 years of experience or certifications (that I’ve seen), which I obviously don’t have.

Experience wise, I have had minimal direct accounting experience (mostly data entry and journaling in Excel). However, I have taken steps to build relevant skills: Improving my Excel proficiency, Practicing QuickBooks online (free tutorial), and watching tutorials on various accounting software on YouTube. I’ve worked on improvin

Apartment Recommendations

Moving to El Paso

Hello Folks,

I am going to be moving to El Paso, TX this summer and I am wanting to see if anyone has any recommendations on what apartments to move to. It will be just my girlfriend and I. We are looking for a place that’s relatively affordable, has positive review, with low crime rates. We also prefer a place that is quiet and peaceful. We don’t necessarily want to be in busy area.

We have to be in El Paso, TX by July due to work. If anyone could give advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I got my BS in accounting last summer and I am currently enrolled in an MBA program. Since starting my MBA, I found that I am more interested in the analysis side of finance, as opposed to accounting itself. I also found that I really enjoyed analyzing managerial accounting data, as well as financial accounting data.

From several different threads I have found that having a background in accounting may help with foundational knowledge for financial analysis, but that it’s not necessarily applicable. This being said, I have been applying for months for entry-level analyst jobs in order to try and gain any applicable real world experience. However, I have no luck. Most places wo
