If possible, please categorize it and give a short description on why you think an autistic person may enjoy it. Thanks.

I'll start.

Fashion:

  • Ash Callaghan - Very Aspie vibes, has a very 'clinical' approach and is quite articulate. Definitions matter - a lot - and she is also quite data-driven - relative to 'typical' fashion-tubers.

Technology:

  • Technology Connections - Does hour-long expository videos on technology, usually old. Really focuses on the why and how of engineering gone into making a product.

  • Dave Plummer - Former Windo

The purpose of this post is to highlight a radically different - more sophisticated - strategy that Russia is using to further subvert the West using media. The strategy seems to be to cross-pollinate typically apolitical spaces with blatantly political ones. Much of John Kiriakou's content seems to revolve around his time working in intelligence, how he whistleblew torture committed by the American government, and how much he hates the American government. Much of Kiriakou's grievances are legitimate, however, this does excuse working for Russian state media - especially considering he should know better. Don't be fooled by the fact he has disowned/disavowed many of Russia's acts, he ca

Conquering AI planets is not fun because the AI doesn't make sensible ones. For example, often colonizing too many small planets and just poor development in general. This means that the player has to micromanage the planets or overbuild and just tank the upkeep. To further add annoyances you can't queue greater than one upgrade for a building, meaning you have to return the planet again. Managing this would be easier if we could have a construction queue which begins construction only if the planet falls below a certain empty job threshold. The construction queue should also be aware of the current construction sequence, for example, queuing multiple upgrades on the same building.

First off, realize that you are going to a psychologist/therapist for a reason. There are unknown unknowns, if you could recognize and fix these problems yourself you wouldn't go to a psychologist/therapist. This is the fundamental assumption you must carry through when attending any sort of therapy, you have to be humble. That being said, there are bad psychologists and bad therapists and you shouldn't hesitate to switch to a different one.

The number of commenters here who uncritically offer support of the OP's view is highly concerning. Very often, it's an extrapolation of a single sentence or two from what could be part of an hour-long conversation. This is especially dangerous for

My special interest is in mathematics, I enjoy it because it fundamentally encapsulates the structure of so many systems. There is a natural drive in mathematics to describe a system as compactly as possible, the bedrock is axioms (rules) and from just axioms you can fit on a small index card you can extract books of information from the system. Theoretically, a axiomatic framework means you could memorize less at the cost of having to recompute an idea ad-hoc - it can be tiring to do for long periods.

I find that how I reason about my own social interactions closely mirrors how I reason about mathematics or logic. I try to find/discover some rules about a person and from those I generat

The costs of the Trump administration is already monetarily astronomical. I'm here to tell you it's even worse than what the balance sheet says. In sum, Trump's tactics only work because of the work past presidents have put in over a series of years if not decades to build. Trump has destroyed much of this work in as little as a year.

Trump is capable of converting strategic assets into tactical value - whether political, relations, or financial. Trump does this by doing maximalist/hard-line negotiation where he leverages relative asymmetries to extract value - whether it’s stiffing a contractor or using the US military. Trump’s strategic failure lies within his inability to recognize th

Trump seems to overweight short-term gain relative to long-term value. Trump’s strategic failure lies within his inability to recognize the value in these strategic assets - whether it's due to not caring because this is his final term, just genuine inability, or undervaluing. Trump's tactics can only work longer time horizons if these assets are replenished, however, future presidents will suffer a

How do you guys deal with rumination before bed?

⏲️Executive Functioning / Emotional Regulation

I often find myself wondering about an idea before bed, sometimes a conversation or something technical. It's great when I want to focus on something and grind something out, but hell if I need to maintain a sleep schedule. This worsens if the problem is particularly time-sensitive. I've tried melatonin, it helps me stay asleep, but doesn't really seem to help getting to sleep.

I'm not proud of it, but substance use helps. Alcohol and weed prevent coherent thoughts, thus often breaking this loop. I prefer weed b/c there are less morning-after side effects. Diphenhydramine also works, but it leaves me feeling groggy and not really feeling rested when I wake up. I weight lift consi

TL;DR Having an accurate world model means having an effective error correction mechanism to make adjustments to the world model. Liberal movements have an error correction mechanism via debate and elections; and rely on the wisdom of the masses generally giving greater weight to the opinions of competent individuals whereas illiberals consolidate the error correction mechanism within a leader or those loyal to a leader. Effectively, the illiberal leader acts as an effective cap on the intellectual capacity of the movement and becomes an intellectual bottleneck, this poses especially large problems if the leader is not especially intelligent and narcissistic. Illiberal-narcissistic le

The purpose of this post is to highlight what I believe is an insufficient response to the recent ICE murder and the potential consequences of not fixing it. Democrats need a plan for justice and it needs to be communicated to the public. The Democrat messaging from the top is clear; grit your teeth and be peaceful. However, there are issues with this:

There needs to be a light at the end of the tunnel, one which the Trump admin is unwilling to provide and is actively trying to quash. The peacefulness with the number of ICE and MN interactions is admirable, however, this is only go to be true so long as people in MN believe that there will be a path towards removing and punishing ICE.

Why I think you should read my schizo post

This informs you on how you can identify wedge issues within MAGA/Conservativism and how you can shape your rhetoric to suit the tastes of the conservative palette.

Background - A brief intro to a confusion matrix

I'll briefly describe a confusion matrix (wikipedia link) within the context of identifying legitimate SNAP recipients. Yes, I realize you can change the orientation of the matrix by inverting positive and negative, however, as long as you orient it such that the best outcome is true positive I find that this heuristic works.

Everything has a reason, for better or worse. Democratic leadership continues using Twitter despite it being a waste of time and effort according to people on this sub. Russia continues pouring resources into bots on Twitter despite largely accomplishing their goal of instilling 'grassroots' conservatives into it. Ask yourself why these people with real political experience, proven track record, and tons of resources are fighting a largely pointless battle according to you. Twitter is one of the few spaces that MAGA can regularly see unfiltered and unmoderated left-wing voices. Show me another place where you can do that. And no, MAGA should not have to come to your special place t
