Maybe a current TBM lurker can tell me what percentage of one's DNA has to be indigenous American to be considered a Lamanite. I know Senator Warren has always claimed this and used it on her college applications for special treatment. Trump called her a bullshitter and made fun of her, but she showed him by getting a DNA test and proved that she is 1/1000 percent native American. Does that make her Lamanite? I know my wife is about 1/16th native American, but never used it to try to get into college. Does she qualify? She used to look pretty Indian to me when she was young - very much so. In fact, I used to call her Pocahontas like Trump called Elizabeth. All in good fun, you know.

Now, I might be a Son of Perdition (tm), but I still have some brain left. I believe this name change is very unsettling for most TBMs. They may not admit it, but it must be destabilizing. It strikes right at someone:s identity. The name :mormon: has a ton of positive connotations for a proud member - the Tab choir, Utah itself, BYU, family history, pioneer history, American history, missionaries, the sacred book, the entire past.......

I think it:s a horrible move that only threatens members - especially when many are leaving and these odd essays are on the church website. Bizarre!

Since I left the church, it has changed so much that I wouldn't even call it the same church. I think this can turn in to a very bad problem. And that problem is that pretty soon it will become apparent to almost all mormons that the church can't be considered true. Look at all the changes taking place and soon to come. Even steady TBMs are anxious and sense trouble. Can you imagine what it would look like if 90% of the members came to turn away? Think of the misery this could soon cause. And I think it could all be sooner than you think.

What is more mormon than a ladder? Ladders are used to change a light bulb on ward clean up day. A ladder is used to clean Sister McConkie's gutters - even though she has plenty of money and could easily afford to pay any local guy to do it. And a ladder is used to tape up those ribbons in the ward gym for a fancy reception. Yep, ladders are everywhere. Ladder Day Christies.

I noticed a couple weeks ago that this team looked good. Today they beat #6 Wisconsin. At Wisconsin. That is an amazing victory! I love this team and their style of play. I also love the coach. And while I know that the religion is baloney, I still like the sort of tough guys that make up this team. Fun to watch. Man, this puts BYU in the top 10. An amazing accomplishment. This is a great team to watch. Good luck to them. Oh, and go Buckeyes!!

Now, I'm an Ohio State grad and love me some Buckeyes (who beat Oregon State today 77-31- we need to tighten up the D.). But I watched some other teams today, and I'm now watching BYU - Arizona. I think BYU looks great. Great balance all over the place with a really good pass attack and receivers with great hands. This seems to always be the case with this team. I know these guys tend to be a couple years older than most teams, but they sure seem much older and more confident. They don't freak out and have very good team cohesion and spirit. They run hard and tackle hard. I'm seeing a lot of ass-kicking out here. A great ball club. If I'm not mistaken, they are going to beat Ar
