I had a thought last night. SS6 was taken out of school early on bio mom's day off. DH asked mom for a heads up whenever she does so. HCBM said it was "none of (my DH) business" what she was doing with her day with SS. CO states school decisions are to be made 50/50. Would this technically be a school decision? SS was pulled out of school just for leisure, no doctor's appointments or anything but DH didn't know that until he asked why SS was saying he was pulled out of school. This was also on a transition day when dad was supposed to pick up during afterschool care so SS came back way more emotional.

I understand that at his age school isn't going to be super complex and he does just fine

A colleague at work who had met me for the first time asked if I had kids. I immediately said no because it's true, I have no bio kids. But then at that same time, my other coworker turns to me and says "but your husband has a child, doesn't he?". And I thought about it for a second and corrected myself. "Oh yeah, I have a stepson. But I'm sure that's not what she meant." And it was a little awkward after that. The person who asked didn't dig deeper into it. That was it. Didn't ask how old he was or how he was doing.

For me, it just instinctively came out. I'm already 29. This has been the answer every time for the entirety of my 20s. I pay attention to my SS6 and I go out of my way to help

That's it. That's the post. I can't say anything to my fiancé that is more sensitive info that HCBM doesn't need to have.

It drives me nuts. I wanna be able to talk about anything and everything with this man I'm gonna spend my life with. But I have a kid who's gonna spew everything to his mother the second he gets into her car. He goes and spills just about anything and everything about her in our car on swaps.

6 year olds with undiagnosed ADHD don't really know how to not spill anything. I say everything as if HCBM was in the room with us.

My partner's HCBM is a frequent liar. She's been caught in multiple lies she tells my partner and we suspect she also lies to SK (5M), but we don't try to disregard anything he says. We meet it with "uh huhs" or "okays" for little things we think may not be true and when it's bigger things, we'll clarify with him and say maybe mom or SS is mistaken. But that just feels dishonest on our part.

I feel 5 is too young to let him know his mom may be lying to him, but do we ever let him know if she is at any point when he's older? Or should we just let him figure it out? HCBM is never talked down on in our home in front of him, but she absolutely tries to brainwash this kid and it's exhausting.

I recently bought my in-laws gifts for Christmas and gave them theirs early to avoid shipping costs as we were in town visiting. They loved my gifts and they were very personalized towards what they liked. We've dated for over a year, I figure it was okay to give them something considering my parents are getting my SO something.

Amazon delivers packages labeled for my SO. They're my SS's Christmas presents. There's multiple. I'm glad he has so many, but I noticed there aren't any labeled for me or my SO. I tease my SO and say, "ha! Looks like you didn't get a present this year. Just your son." He turns around and says "Oh, they already gave me mine. It was money. A good chunk of it." And th

Not quite married yet (or maybe ever at this rate) but potential SS is almost 5 and I have been dating his dad for a year, but have been friends for almost 4. Let me start off with, I have 0 issues with this kid. He is a sweet boy raised by an absolute bitch and a very passive father. Lately, HCBM has very much been poking at my BF and testing boundaries. Recently, she has proposed a schedule change which will go from the court ordered 50/50 to only having SS for 3 weekends (Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon). She already took one of his days out of the week because of something he agreed on months ago. This was not brought up in court, by the way, this is something they just implemented

So as my title states, I'm attempting to drive across Canada in order to move to Alaska from the lower 48. I'm a US citizen with a clean record and have my passport card. I want to bring my car up, but I've never traveled to Canada. (Car is in my name and insured under my name as well.)

I was told I would need to fill out a Notice of Intent to Travel. From Canada's own travel site , it just looks like this is needed for Air travel? So I'm confused. Do I still need this? What else would I need?

I appreciate any advice.
