PTO usage

Question

Why is it so hard to get PTO approved?

For the past 6 months, I've been working 6hrs and 6 days a week and finally decided I wanted to use my PTO because my body is starting to hurt a bit. But every time I ask my full time supervisor, he says there's already too many people on vacation or this month is already full. But then I show up to work and everybody is there. I feel like they're not approving it because after a couple of hours in unload, they push me to preload to load some trucks because we are severely understaffed and our new hires are quitting fast.

Currently in a SoCal hub

I just got paid today, yippie!

But for the two days I took off for vacation last week, it shows only $27.80 as the gross pay. I thought it was supposed to be 4 hours of pay like options days and sick time.

Was given one by my brother but the battery is basically dead and only giving me one mile of usage before dying. Does anyone happen to know a good replacement?

I know isinwheel isn't a great brand but I would at least like to savage the scooter still.

New to all this also is replacing the battery an issue thing to do? As in just plug and play?

Thanks in advance!

When do we get overtime for PT inside employees and where can I find the language that talks about it?

I could have sworn we got overtime after 5hrs.

Tragic day when your work bestie gets moved to the preload and myself are also on the chopping block. I love unload and don't want to leave. 💔

Supposedly somewhere around 30 drivers took the buyout at my hub and now they're moving lots of people from everywhere to replace the drivers, leaving everywhere understaffed. Preload needs the biggest help apparently so lots of us have been moved or going there to help after our area is done.

Apparently Aetna PPO doesn't cover implants or do the 80/20. Not even the 3k out of network is being used. My dentist is in network so I'm confused about it. Am I gonna have to call Aetna? I'm located in CA, Western Region. Anyone else deal with this stuff? First time doing this and I got quoted cheaper for going out of network.

is there anything in the contract or for safety that says we have to unload with somebody else? I don't think so but I need y'all help since getting a Stewart is heck in our building.

Long story short for anyone that cares, our center manager wants everybody to unload the truck alone. No partner and no sweepers. Just you and the guy on the scanner.

Of course it was a shit show. Bulk and bags were piled high in and outside of each truck and the only time we could clear it was if somebody finished their truck and decided to help for a bit before their next truck or when we absolutely had to clear bulk to keep clearing out the truck. I only know that having egress is a grievance but that won

A coworker of mine got hit by a car yesterday and his wife called me with his phone to tell me. I notified the supervisor but should I also give her the number for Hartford? Not sure of his current condition but it sounded pretty bad.

I had some molars pulled unfortunately and been needing an implant for a bit now. Waited until my insurance kicked in during December and now I'm ready to get my implants. The only thing is, they're asking for $1800 out of pocket. Which hurts financially. My dental insurance is through Aetna if anyone has ever dealt with them before. Is this usually how it is? I'm thinking since I picked whatever orthodontist closest to me that accepted my insurance is why it's so high. Should I be going through the website itself and checking on the in network providers?

first time doing something like this so some help would be appreciated from those who know.

I called in and left a message saying I wasn't coming in that day and for them to use sick leave time since I just got PTO. This was on Dec. 30th, I told both the PT Sups in my area, twice now since I rarely see the Full time Sup, the one who actually does the stuff. I told them the week of and this week too about it but I'm still coded in as "CALLED IN". I admit, I still don't know the full rules of our contract and the local one. But from what everyone inside tells me, they should have coded it when I called in. Could it be because it was during peak season that I'm still coded as "CALLED IN"? If not and they're just slow to fix it, do I wait another week? If not, what's the grievance pro

I heard you have to work the day before and the day after and another saying you need 2 workdays in a week to get holiday pay (New Year's for example). I'm in the Western Region, CA in if anyone has the answer. Also about using a sick day, do you get paid for it? I was told they give 4hrs but nobody at my hub has a straight answer.

Western Region here (CA)

PT Sups asked me and some others if we wanted to stay longer for some air that was coming late, we said yes. Then he said it will probably be in 30 mins. Ok cool. He comes back and says we are being forced to a lunch break even tho it's been about 3hrs ish. Some of the others guys asked why and said that should only happen around the 5th hour and that we never get an actual lunch break. Then the PT Sup te us to start moving to air side while we were still on "break".

Is any of these cause for a grievance? I'm still only a year end so this is new to me. But all the other guys said it they will be following through with a grievance. Just looking for information to b
