I remember having a VHS recording of some standup night and there was this one guy who had a bit about selling one of those get rich quick programs and had a line that went like "buy a knife, kill your neighbors, sell their house and you can be a millionaire!" This was delivered like a infomercial sales pitch kind of voice, there were a lot of infomercial for get rich quick stuff during this time.. I have no idea who it was and can't find much online. Does anyone know who I'm thinking of? American accent.

Fairly new baker. Been mostly baking sourdough and sourdough focaccia. I have a bread clouche (cloak, clouque idk how to spell my English is not good) I was told to keep it in the oven during preheating for it to get really hot and my loves come out looking great, but the bottom of the loaf often comes out burnt. Should I try putting only the dome lid in the oven during preheating? Is there a better way? I tried the sheet pan under but found that ineffective. I also tried adding a silpat cutout in between the bottom pan and parchment but that was less than effective.

Focaccia comes out fine in a glass pan other than it loves to stick.

I'd like to build some countertop/ storage for my backyard. Our area is pretty wooded and I want to be able to store my electric griddle and possibly a Nina smoker/grill along with utensils. I need the storage area under the counter to be sealed from the elements and spiders. Are there any ideas, plans, or products that would accommodate my storage needs? I could build a counter top around it if it's something pre built.

my collection of nuts, bolts, screws and related items have sprawled out of control and I'm looking for how others do it so I can steal ideas for my own benefit. I have some containers for my metric bolts and nuts and I have some organized wood screws and such but my pile of random hardware that came with something I bought that I can't just throw away has become unmanageable and I want to fix that and give reconsideration to my current organization

Parental leave is coming to an end and I'm having a lot of anxiety about returning. I am working a very demanding job working a good 60-70 hours a week. I can't imagine keeping prior performance at work since my newborn will obviously be my priority but I'm worried my drop in output will come with ramifications and possible termination. I'm very worried about my future. How has taking care of a newborn impacted your career? How do people do this?

I searched the FAQ and did some googling and while i found some posts that asked this question there was never a resolution that fixed it for me.

I've been using linux for a while but I will admit I still feel inexperienced especially since there was a good ten year gap of me using linux last and I'm only recently crawling back.

I recently installed Nobara fresh on a blank ssd and I've been struggling with a few things but most annoying is that the return to gaming mode icon on the desktop doesn't do anything anymore. It previously would open up steam to big picture/steamdeck mode and now when I double click it there is no error or response of any kind. I have updated everything I

One hexagonal 20 gallon tank and one 15 gallon rimless. Both tanks work fine and hold water. I just had to save space so I got a 30 gallon and combined the two.

Is there a reason why I wouldn't want the lid of a tank to cover the entire top? I've seen a lot of the lids for rimless tanks not really match the area of the tank, leaving lots of gaps. I'm thinking about cutting my own but wonder if there is good reason why.

I'm trying to find some 3D printing channels that are targeted at women. My wife has had glimpses of interest and approval of the printer with some of the prints I made for organizing things and some decorations. However she was scrolling through her feed and one of her DIY people she watches made something 3D printed and she seemed really interested in that. So I'm wondering if there are more channels that might give her some more ideas and possible interest in 3D printing.

I had a nice (to me) 7.1 setup and move into a house with my wife and then downgraded into a 3.1 setup with some floor standing b&w stereo speakers and a bic acoustic center and. Energy sub. A bit eclectic but they worked well together. Now there is a sudden need for storage solutions in the entertainment area so the floor speakers must go. Im trying to find a good quality solution that may include multiple speakers integrated into a single bar. A bar of sound if you will.. we have an 80" display to pair.

We have been trying for years. We did get pregnant but the little one had trisomy 18. This was incredibly hard for us as its a disorder that's not compatible with life. I didn't know how to live after that. I felt like a piece of me was gone. I was broken, kind of still am. Can't talk about it though so it goes on the shelf. Ya know. However we are not expecting and I'm incredibly hopeful that we will have a healthy baby due in March. I have been working on my dad joke game for a long time. I'm also afraid of elevators and I've been taking steps to avoid them.
