An on the fly ruling was made at our table which raised some interesting questions: Can you use Speak with Dead for a dead animal?

For context, the player who cast SwD has a ring with always-on Speak with Animals

How would you rule?

On the one hand, Speak with Animals works on "Beasts" not corpses, but on the other Speak with Dead does not specify whether a corpse has to be humanoid or intelligent, it only must "have a mouth, and ... knows only what it knew in life, including the languages it knew"

There is clearly some kind of camera or sensor that blanks the screen if I move my face out from in front of this laptop. I can turn the laptop 30 degrees and boom, the screen blacks.

So, I can reproduce the problem, but I cannot find or figure out how to disable it. There is nothing in the installed AcerSense, and all the relevant windows settings are disabled or don't exist.

Anyone have a solution?

I am not asking for support, just input on this.

The last bundle I bought had multiple download links which worked, and one that led to a 404. I submitted a help request and never heard back, but some days later got a bulk email stating that the problem had been fixed for all.

The bundle I bought this morning has one link directly to a 404

Anyone know why this process has become unreliable there lately?

My Viwoods reader came with a dark green corner bumper which snapped on nicely and I was using until a better case arrived in the mail. I have that case now, but I cannot for the life of me get this bumper off.

Has anyone else had this problem? I mean, there is barely any flex to it and no stretch. I have completely failed to slip a corner off etc, -even with spudgers.

Anyone figure out a good way?

EDIT: I finally applied enough wedges to free a corner. If I were you, I would NOT put this thing on your reader unless you intend to keep it forever

I am new to NO, and I like it but some of the choices I am being forced to make are a bit crazy.

I want to test if a software is installed, and if not, trigger an install of it. Agent policy seems like the place to do that, but if I create this as a standalone policy, I am forced to choose between it and the default Windows Workstation Policy?

In other words, I have to cram all agent conditions etc into ONE policy?

That sucks because the "if not, install it" will get triggered by any of the other conditions.

I suspect I should be accomplishing this some other way, like a single script that detects + installs purely in conditions, but that is not ideal either.

How crazy/stupid am I be

I am interested in totally platonic snailmail penpals, so began looking into this subreddit. Because my experience with this is decades out of date, I held some naive questions about it. So here are some questions:

  1. Are there any particular things I can do to help penpals feel safe interacting via snailmail with me? It sounds dumb, but we did not think about stalking, doxxing etc when I was young. The internet was not around until I was in my mid-late 20s. I am a man and while not particularly looking for female penpals, I want to make it safe for anyone including myself.

  2. I looked into PO Boxes and (at least where I live) they are stupidly expensive. $30/month for the small ones

I have a need for an RPG map image that can be available via browser to multiple people. The map needs to have basic coloring/highlighting and text labels tools for players to update it asynchronously.

The only thing I can think of is Owlbear Rodeo which would work (I think) though the tools are not strong.

Any other ideas that are VTT or non-VTT?

The official character sheet looks good but requires tiny writing and generally wastes a lot of space.

Does anyone know a 3rd party one, preferably form-fillable?

If not, what would be the best tool(s) to create one?
