Tube Strike During London Visit

London 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Hi all, I'll be visiting London, landing on Sept 3 and departing on Sept 10th. I will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Stratford, which I originally chose because it's next to a tube station and assumed it would be easy to get to the tourist attractions. With the tube strike, should I expect transportation to be a nightmare?

I have been occasionally hiking for two years now but have only done so in warm weather. I was planning to visit some of the Utah national parks this week and decided to buy a pair of long hiking pants and settled on the Prana Zion II Slim Fit pants, which I bought from REI. These were $100 so I had expected these to at least hold up for a reasonable amount of time, but After my second day wearing these, they have already developed multiple holes. At most, I have only done some light rock scrambling on the hikes and I feel like any other pair of pants I own would have been more durable.

Would it be unreasonable for me to return these even though the tags are off and the pants are obviously

Looking to go to Vegas the weekend of December 7th but the prices are astronomical. Anyone know what's going on that weekend that's jacking up the room rates?

Hi all, I'll be staying at the Hyatt Centric Minneapolis later this month and was wondering about parking options. It looks like the hotel doesn't have their own lot besides a valet lot costing $52 a night. Does anyone have any cheaper self-park options that I can use for the 3 nights I'll be there? There are some other unrelated lots around the hotel and I found a lot one block over under the Rand Tower Hotel for $30 a night, but wondering if there's anything cheaper that anyone can recommend.

Thanks!

I'll be visiting from August 23 - 26 to watch the Cardinals play the Twins. This is my first time visiting Target Field and also the first time I'll be seeing them at an away game. I want to wear my Cardinals gear, should I be worried about getting harassed? Is there an area that away fans usually sit? I'll also be staying at the Hyatt Centric in downtown so wondering if it's safe to walk from the stadium back after the game at night.

So I was working through an AUD progress test with Becker, and one of the simulations asked me what paragraphs of the audit report should be modified given for a few scenarios. When I looked over the results, Becker graded my sim as if I had gotten the entire scenario wrong, even though only I only got one or two of the parts wrong. In the question, I got the entirety of row 3, 4, and 5 wrong even though only a few of the cells were incorrect. I emailed Becker support about their grading and they told me that the AICPA grades the entire scenario row as incorrect even if I only got one part of the row wrong. Does anyone know if this is accurate? It doesn't seem accurate to grade an entire row

I'm studying for FAR right now and I'm planning to get Ninja for access to more practice problems, but only after I finish going through the material in Becker. Is it possible to pay for one month of Ninja cram questions before i sit, and disable my subscription until I'm ready to cram questions for the next section a few months in the future? I don't want to pay for Ninja during the months that I'm going through Becker and not using Ninja.

Thanks!

I'm usually really tolerant concerning most behaviors, and I'll usually good game players even if they play netdecks or cancerous decks, or spam emotes. But the one thing I hate most is when people forfeit the game right after I play my last card to secure the win. It would've literally been only like 10 seconds more before the match ended and I would've got to see the end score. I'm only like level 20 right now so I'm not too familiar with people's attitudes towards this, but playing at higher ranks on the ladder has exposed me more to this.

Just to be clear, I don't mean playing down my entire hand even after I've secured the win, but me playing the very last card in round 3 to secure it

I've been reading some easy articles in Chinese and i stumbled on this sentence: 他給這個“國”起了一個新名字。

To my understanding this means that "he gave country a new name", but I'm having trouble with why the 起了 is necessary. It seems like 他給這個“國”一個新名字 means the same thing?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi, I've recently sparked an interest in learning Cantonese. I'm a heritage learner and I am able to understand what my parents/other Cantonese people say, although I'm not able to understand formal speech such as on the news. I'm currently in college taking some introductory Mandarin classes as well, and this also helped spark some interest in the language. Are there any resources that you guys could recommend me? I'm pretty much able to understand casual spoken Cantonese, but I'm unable to speak it myself. I rarely spoke Cantonese when I was a kid, and nowadays, I'm not able to construct sentences myself =(.

Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated!
