I am very new to writing. I am taking a creative writing class this semester and I have found my class to all be very supportive and kind. Which is lovely, but not really all that helpful. I write primarily because I enjoy it, but I also want my writer to be rich, entertaining, and good. I'm open to being crushed and devastated, if it will help my writing.

We are working on flash fiction at the moment, so this is an adapted version of a short story I have been working with for a while.

I'm jumping back into reading after a long ready slump. I'm still dipping my toes into the water of lots of different online book communities to figure out which ones are best for me. I've really been enjoying this sub so far, so I was excited to find the r/52book group over on goodreads. I love being able to check out reviews on goodreads, then search through reviewer's lists for new recommendations. Goodreads makes that so easy. But, that group hasn't been updated since 2018.

I was wondering if you guys would have any interest in starting some conversation over there as well. I saw there was a thread where everyone shared their goodreads accounts, but I thought I maybe missed the boat? Fe

Hey Reddit. I have hardcore jumped into reading recently and I’m looking for some friends to chat about books with. I found the Goodreads groups page a bit disappointing. But, I would love to create my own active group over there! I was hoping to maybe round up some people here to start a goodreads book club with?

I’ve also recently been exploring StoryGraph. I love the stats and challenges, but haven’t quite figured out the socials.

I like classics, literary fiction, books about nature, and I’ll pick up anything BookTok recommends (though I have found their recommendations to be pretty hit or miss). I’m also invested in reading books by diverse authors.
