I am replacing a set of 215/55 R16 winter tires that are mounted on steel rims (6.5x16" with 40mm offset). I would be buying the tires online and having a local shop mount them on my existing steel rims.
I am seeing some recommendations to run a slightly narrower winter tire for increased traction in snow/slush - such as 205/60 R16. Tires in that size also seem to be significantly cheaper for a set of 4. I've looked at various calculators showing a 1.6% increase in diameter which appears to be acceptable (below 3%).
Can I run 205/60? Or should I stick with the OEM 215/55? Perhaps there's another more optimal size?
I appreciate any insight/advice.
Open to equivalent 1080p cards. Will travel locally for pickup.
Looking to pay 200-400 plus shipping. Willing to discuss pricing.

I've recently been updating a few parts in an old PC build. One of the new parts is an i7-4790k, which should work with my motherboard, but requires a BIOS update to version F6 (Currently on F2).

Its my first time updating BIOS and I'm looking to clarify the process and avoid bricking my motherboard:
- Can I go directly from version F2 to F7? Should I only go to F6?
- Do I need to update anything other than the BIOS (Chipset drivers, utilities etc)?
- Process would be to update BIOS with my current CPU, then install the new

Looking for an i7-4790k locally or shipped to Atlantic Canada, if there is 16GB of DDR3 available I would consider that as well.
Looking to pay $20-60 CAD on the i7 and $10-20 CAD depending on the RAM. Willing to discuss prices.
Thanks

Mid-tier PC I built back in 2013, to primarily play League of Legends. I want to know if a cheap GPU upgrade would be worth it. The PC currently seems to be losing some frames in LoL, Valorant, and Rocket League when the games peak with visual animations. Looking for more frames / greater frame rate stability in old games like these. Wondering if a GPU upgrade to something like a 1060 or 1660 Ti would work with my current system, achieve better frame rate, and not be bottle-necked beyond belief by the CPU. I completely understand this PC is old and won’t be fit for modern / AAA games, but if I can extend the life of it given the current games that I play - why not.
I found a used 1660 Ti li
I recently purchased a new mtb and I am getting it ready for the trails. The last thing I need to do is center the calipers. I had them both perfectly centered, and then adjusted the reach on my levers. After the reach adjustment, the calipers are rubbing even worse than originally..
Does moving the reach adjust inwards, also move the pads? If so, what would be the order of maintenance here?
Would it be:
- Set reach adjust
- Push pistons back in on both calipers
- Align calipers by losening the caliper bolts
Reach adjustment after the caliper alignment seems to throw it all off.
Breaks are TRP Slate EVOs if that helps at all.
I am looking for a simple and cost effective method to train casually indoors this winter. A friend of mine gave me an old trainer, I currently only have 1 bike, and its a full suspension trail bike. Any advice is appreciated.
Current Setup: Giant Stance 2021 - 27.5in rims, 30mm internal width. The rear wheel is a quick release axle.
Trainer: http://www.minoura.jp/english/trainer/unavailable/tire-drive/b60r.html#
- It looks like the max compatible tire width would be 45cc / 1.75in.
Questions:
- could i fit a 1.75in tire (or smaller) on my existing 30mm rim (strictly for indoor use)?
- is the trainer even compatible with the giant stance?
- is a trainer tire better for indoor use than a
