A friend of mine doesn't really care for 4chan greentext content. Yesterday, at 12 noon, I sent him a plain text greentext as a shitpost. He didn't see it until 4 PM. At around 2 PM, he was recommended a YouTube greentext meme read.

Is this a known connection? I know Discord is powered by chromium, is there a Discord client that disentangles the two? Or is Discord just simping for Google on the backend?

A typical conversation in Rostok in STALKER 1:

  • Barkeep: "What can I do for you, stalker?"
  • Strelok: "Sidorovich sent me. I need [X]. He said you could help me find it."
  • Barkeep: "Ah, right, he told me you were coming. Alright... so... [X Description.]"

A typical conversation in Rostok in STALKER 2:

  • [Skif looks at vendor.]
  • Vendor: "Hi, you must be new here. I am the most reputable person ever to have existed in the Zone. If you need something done, you come to me before you go to anyone else, got it? Also, keep in mind: My neighbor, Captain Disagreeovich, is a lazy suckass and should not be trusted. Seriously! If I hear you even looked at him, you will regret it, mark my wor

In STALKER 2, every vendor - Sidorovich, Barkeep, Screw, Eugene, Ragman, etc. - immediately starts info dumping Skif with their life story before he's even said hello. This isn't how human conversation works. I cannot help but think of Fallout 4.

It's not that I don't want that information. But in most RPGs, you walk up, your character says hello, you get a response, and a menu of choices where you could ASK them what's going on. If they had a problem, a quest, or a complaint about someone, you could discover that through natural dialogue. This is how it normally worked in all the older STALKER games.

I know this is a nitpick, but once you start noticing it, it's impossible to unsee. It ma

If you're tired of spending time, energy, and frustration wrestling with some balance issues, check out the STALKER 2 mods section on Nexus Mods. For you rookies: Modding is the lifeblood of this series. You'd better embrace it now. While STALKER has always been a great series, GSC has never been great at balancing their games. So if anyone gives you shit for "cHeAtInG," tell them to pound sand.

Good hunting, stalker.

Understanding the nature of sound in this game is critical to the skill curve. Mastery of this understanding gives you functional wall hacks via your ears. The difference in equalization curve between enemy and friendly sounds is stark enough to be recognizable even without a tutorial, provided you have a headset.

Put simply:

  • Friendly footsteps and gunfire is high in bass.
  • Enemy footsteps and gunfire is high in treble.

If your complaint is that you're too easy to hear with the new system, sprint less. Walking has less treble than sprinting. Prone on concrete or metal is silent, so you can sneak.

If this is still too complicated, that's tragically unfortunate for you. But there's no a

Greetings. I am the unholy merger of Full Band and Bandog, but you lowlife criminals can call me "Captain Full Bandog, Esquire." Doing so when in trouble may keep you out of solitary.

Recently I've had to solitary a few convicts. You could have probably guessed this, but let me tell you why this upsets me. I want to explain it to you insufferable bastards in a way you can understand, because apparently, comedy is hard. As the ultimate authoritarian despotic arbiter on what is and isn't funny, let me learn you something.

A few of you goons are still working on your general education, and have discovered that the number 444 exists in every book that has 444 pages or more. Others are just now

I just made my way through late-raid Shoreline resort to find that literally every corpse in the building had been gifted a mustache. I had this mental picture of a guy running around pulling adhesive strips off of fake mustaches, meticulously adhering them to corpses. I laughed the whole way to extract.

Sometimes this game has the opposite of toxicity and I wanted to recognize this wholesome hilarity. That was perfect. Whoever you are, thank you, and I salute you.

Just watched the trailer. This line perfectly encapsulated my theories as to what the next STALKER will be about: The present nature of the noosphere, and who actually controls it now.

I'm going to reiterate my understanding of the new nature of the Zone, post C-Consciousness. The C-Consciousness tore a hole open in the human noosphere, honing many joined consciousnesses at once to alter reality. There is an inherent addictive property to telepathy, in that you achieve perfect empathy with the person you are in telepathy with, but the price of this is your individuality.

This was the folly of the C-Consciousness; they believed that if they could simply bring all of humanity under the umbre

Disclosures: I purchased EOD when the game came out, and have not purchased Unheard.

I'm seeing some sentiment arise where people are blaming purchasers of Unheard and saying "YOU ARE TO BLAME." And while I agree that no one should be purchasing Unheard, it must be said that corrupt corporations like BSG absolutely LOVE it when the wallets fight amongst themselves.

I do think we should be challenging apologists and submissive thinkers on an individual level, but devolving into tribalistic finger flinging only divides us. Consider: if you were sitting on the fence about an issue, when is the last time you were convinced to join the right side when the "right side" said you were "part of th

Abstract

Senior Field Researcher Seriy Gray reports observation of new mutant Antropomorphus ostiarius in sector R3D-D17 at 0242 to 0311, close to the Submission Anomaly. Creature is corpulent, with what appears to be large, bulbous lipid tissue around abdomen, and thick fur around its throat, similar to previous observations. Specimen positively identified as #004, noted by the continued retention of its reproductive stalk (specimens that have mated appear to lose this stalk).

A stalker was observed watching this mutant prior to my arrival. He and his fellows refused to identify themselves but shared their own observations of the creature; their colloquial nomenclature to describe t
