8 years into my career, I am feeling deeply stressed and burned out.

I’m a Project Architect in NYC, juggling multiple projects, mostly ground up big buildings with complex coordination issues and layers and layers of regulatory requirements. The project management and constant putting out fires is exhausting.

I fantasize daily about quitting my job but am scared to because it feels like there’s a recession coming. The stress is so bad that it’s impacting my sleep and I know it’s been hard on my spouse too having to pick up the slack at home for the past year.

I’ve talked to several coworkers about this, and they just tell me that it’s normal and I’ll get used to it. They just try to k

I (34F) am based in the US, and I’ve been trying to do some research to plan for eventual assisted living / nursing home needs for myself. It’s just difficult to figure out what to allocate when there are so many wild differences in pricing, there is political uncertainty, and no one can predict how long they are going to live. (I am planning to live to 100 though.) Alzheimer’s and similar age related illnesses are terrifying and random, as is the potential for elder financial abuse.

My husband (33M) and I (33F) have been living together for a couple of years now and generally have an awesome, supportive relationship. Our usual routine is that we cuddle / have sex before I go to bed at 12:30am, and then he gets back up for “alone time,” where he plays games on his computer for another 1-2 hours before sneaking into bed. Usually he does not wake me, or I’m able to fall asleep right away. This system works well for the both of us and lets us both get our sleep and alone time needs met.

On occasion (3-4) times in the past few years) he’ll stay up a bit later, and if I’ve been asleep for 2.5-3 hours already, it’s super easy for me to wake up when he tries to sneak into bed
