Get any help from Subaru?

21 Limited XT w/ 26,000 on the odometer. Recent (non-Subaru) service found an oil pan (lower?) leak. Repair is 1,200 - $1,300 (said exhaust & turbo had to come out).

Seems a bit excessive for a car w/ 26k & I’m less than 30days past warranty expiration. Just curious if anyone else ran into this & if Subaru helped defer the cost (a discount would be nice).

Not ragging on Subaru, cars cost $$$, shit happens…..just curious if anyone else ran into this & what was the outcome.

Did a search here & found lots of pics but no real details on durability or care.

I’ve read some warnings about eel so I was curious if carpincho was as delicate?

Correctly? Ruger SR1911 commander with FTF issues. It doesn’t like to feed at all. You can not “slap” it into battery. I’d call it a 3 point jam but I’ve not had an expert confirm that.

What I’ve tried

- Different recoil spring weights (slim, but ya gotta try)

- Various mags…Ruger, Springfield, Wilson, nighthawk

- double, triple checked “plunk” for rounds

- run same load & mags in my Kimber (5”)

Using 200gn w/ 5gn titegroup = 845fps in 5”

I’m down to extractor?? Seems a long shot but it’s either that or the throat angle (how would Ruger mess that up)

I got it 2nd hand so no real history.

Quick background - I have limited access to hats (boot barn) & a long oval head. Have an open road - doesn’t fit right (reg oval).

So with limited access I ordered from Wild Hats in September. They state 2-3 months, we’re past that. I also ordered from Stratton & they state 6-10 weeks (again well past that 9/20/2025). Checked with Stratton & they now say Jan, maybe Feb?

I deal with SLAs all the time. I understand that things happen - just curious is there anyone that can actually meet an SLA?

It’s just a bit frustrating that you see a timeframe, accept & plan on that only to get nothing.

Silencer central, what about silencer shop? Are any of these people any good?

Try getting a hold of ANYONE at silencer shop is futile - phone or chat bot is the same, nothing, no response what so ever. Absurd.

So I did some checking as recommended in the last thread & had some interesting results.

I have 3 types of bullets available to load - lead round nose (coated), jacketed flat point, and gold dots. All are 200gn with the 1st two being similar size/shape & the GDHP’s being longer.

Both the LRN & FMJ require under 1.200” to plunk in my barrel (Colt Defender) the odd part is the GDHP can be as long as 1.2400 & they plunk fine. It’s almost as if the chamber was cut to the classic 230gn ball ammo & that’s it - lol.

I did various crimps without any change so I’m pretty certain I’m getting all the bell out.

I apologize if these are dumb questions - 1st foray into .45 (lots of wheel gun stuff
