Hanger steak with a pan butter, crunchy salt, and french fries is tough to beat, but a mojo marinated strip steak grilled, rested, sliced, and tossed with a board sauce and served on warm tortillas is pretty close.

I’m looking at replacing an old Mountain Hardwear Ghost Shadow (the synthetic version of the Ghost Whisperer) and I have my eyes on the EE Torrid but I also am intrigued by the weight and packability of the Cumulus Primelite. I have no experience with either jacket. For anyone that has both, is one warmer than the other?
So I've done a couple weekend hikes (each about ~20 miles) this summer in my Altra Timp 1.5s and I've noticed that at the end of each trip, my knees are sore and my Achilles tendon is tight to the point of it being difficult to walk for about a day. Now that three season hiking is essentially over in Michigan, I'm assessing my gear and seeing what needs to go and what needs to change.
Is the soreness in my knees and Achilles tendons likely due to my zero-drop shoes? I like running in minimalist shoes (I currently wear Merrell Vapor Gloves) so I figured zero-drop was for me, but now I'm wondering if I need to reassess. Was talking to one of the gear guys at REI and he suggested I might need

Let's leave the world of relationship drama and sexual exploits (or lack thereof) and instead explore the vast realm of fermented curd!
My favorite cheese is the Black Betty extra aged variety of the Brabander goat milk gouda. It's firm and shockingly white with abundant crystallization and a sweet, tart flavor with notes of caramel, brown butter, and sometimes tropical fruits. It's fantastic all on its own, but would be a wonderful guest on any cheese plate.
Everyone knows that the velouté reigns supreme as the best of the French mother sauces. It's rich and savory. Could probably eat less salt in my diet, but it really is the best.
I'd love to find a down coat with a fur lined hood like the Penfield Edson, but I was dismayed to find that they no longer make the jacket. Anyone know of a good alternative at about the same price point (~$200)? Canada Goose makes a nice version, but I'd rather not spend $750 on a coat.
[Critique Request] 26M Would love to know what does and doesn't work with my profile.
okcupid.com/profile/LEIFeyJust got a new pair of ice skates and I need to get them sharpened. Any suggestions for where I go? I was thinking about just going to Yost or the Cube. Any best-kept-secrets in the Ann Arbor area?
I should probably preface this by saying that I'm an Asian man that has dated Asians as well as non-Asians, so I'm trying really hard not to overgeneralize.
In my dating experience, a trend I've seen lately is for girls not to be attracted to Asian men. It's not just non-Asian girls either; I've been turned down by Asian girls as well with the "I'm not into Asian men" line.
If you don't like Asian men, is there a particular reason you don't?
And if you actually like Asian men, is there a particular reason that you do?
So I'm 24 years old and I've been graduated from college for a few years. I've been working as a paralegal recently and I've slowly gotten into the grind of working regular hours. To put it simply, life has gotten incredibly boring. I love to draw, cook, read, play video games, go out to bars/restaurants, watch movies, play hockey, go camping/snowboarding, etc. but lately, I either do not have the time to do them anymore, or I am just drained by the monotony and can't motivate myself to do anything.
I've decided that I need to try something new, expand my horizons a little. Do something, anything that might break the ennui. My question is this: Has anyone ever experienced this before, and
