What pen, paper, and ink were you using and what made it so great?

For me it has to be a Parker Sonnet (18k made in France as well). No matter how much soaking, cleaning, or which ink I use the pen continues to skip, hard start, and just be unusably bad.

Which black ink do you think is best and why? Which of these sheens the most?

Just got mine in and I love this little pen I'm considering getting another one. I'm deciding between Skyline Grey, Classic Black, or Classic Bordeaux. Which one do you like the best and why?
