I'm pretty lucky to say I've only had genital HSV1 twice since 2019. This is my second time right now. My first one was about 7 weeks long EVEN with those antivirals pills from day 2. This one began on the 10th of March or so. I did not get meds this time. For two weeks, I have not had any full sores or oozing or scabbing. But I still have general lumpiness on the one side of my genitals that is was really bad. They're a bit red, no oozing, kinda puffy. Just look swollen. My whole life i had perfect skin. I started retinol (purple cerave bottle super low dose) 1x a week, almost less than a pea amount, for 1.5 months. I stopped this past December because holy crap it made my scalp psoriasis flare on my hair line so bad and I started getting that redness around the nose thing.
