I know it’s a weird take but frontal MAAWS on soft skin vehicles with their engines in the front is, counter intuitively, less reliable than side shots. SPH-12 has its engine in the front but you want to side and rear shot it despite the armor being probably the same on every side since it’s just some steel and a spall liner at most. Lakotas and havocs should, in response to having an 84mm HEAT round hit their engines, not be mildly peeved and keep flying, they should be auto rotating to the ground or crashing.

Although really anything short of an APC, SPG, or tank should be folded in half in a single shot regardless of placement. It’s 10kg to carry this thing, as much as L3 body armor, 3.

Late night crackpot theory (episode 6.1 spoilers)

SpoilerMalkavian Posting :Malkavian: (crackpot theory)

Ok so what if Hunts’s undercover name of “Matilda” came from Stig’s tank plan involving a Matilda tank from world war 2 and Jambles suggested that as the fake name to make him happy since that is almost-kinda-the-tank-plan?

The trait is currently locked to avians and toxoids. Hollow bones is a negative trait that reduces the job efficiency of menial/worker jobs by .67% per planet size. Normally this would be crippling since a standard size 20 world would be about -12% job efficiency. And if you have a size 30 or 40 world, well you get the idea. Also I think the display is bugged since it says “0%” when you look at a pop category. Anyways-

Void dwellers get an automatic +15% job efficiency on habitats. And habitats are always no larger than size 6. So the malus is completely negated due to being barely -2% job efficiency. But habitats don’t have only 6 districts, they can have as many as normal planets have (a

As we all know, Starsector is an economics game masquerading as a sector simulation and fleet combat game. Existing, costs credits and supplies. Moving between stars costs fuel. And if you’re doing either of those for no reason? You’re losing money. Credits are blood and running out is death.

So when I randomly queried the funny purple geometry in my fleet, and she showed me some pictures of moths? Well, I didn’t have a reason to say yes but I did fly down to luddic church space anyways. Partially out of curiosity, but the marine raid to free that prisoner could wait a minute. What’s 20 more days in a pirate prison? So we got some moths. It was precious and completely worth it despite it

Like there’s a fuckton of pve content and the core gameplay loop of “go adventure, get loot, sell loot” is really solid. The game has a lot of things to do to keep you entertained while en route to the next location so the lack of a need for Eyeball Mk.1 horizon search patterns means you can do literally anything else with your time. There’s no emptiness in an actually empty server because the world still has a lot in it. Solo or with friends, it’s just a good vibe. I guess if you’re a boring person you may find it unengaging but I find it fantastic.

Honestly it feels like Rare made a fantastic PvE game and then the PvP was a complete afterthought to fit into the trends at the time of rele

So void dwellers was one of my favorite origins and playstyles before the 3.9 open beta, but habitats had some design drawbacks to it I felt. Also it doesn't seem to have generated many threads since the beta released? So here's my thoughts.

  • No matter how you sliced it, you were always going to have too many worlds. Playing tall, wide, etc all result in an absolute spam of habitats. It became management hell to optimize as you just had too many 20-40 pop worlds to cover as the game went on.

  • The empire size from worlds quickly escalates because you end up with so many more colonies than other species.

  • Habitats were such a nuisance when used by the AI or player for defense because yo
