I've never been a fan of MMORPGs. I usually find the combat exhausting (if engaging at all) and the quest design to be the most boring thing imaginable. I've tried multiple over the years with World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV Online or even RuneScape when I was younger. All of them reinforced that same feeling that this genre is simply not for me and I'm better off just never touching one again.

Only a few days ago, my roommate reminisced about playing Wizard101 as a kid. I'd never heard of it before, so I looked it up. Frankly, I made fun of it. It looks so old! An MMMORPG for children? Surely that would be even more boring! I bet it doesn't even have an interesting story with

#Star Ocean: First Departure R ##Rating: 8/10

Three friends who, while searching for the cure to a new disease, come into contact with a space-faring federation that is locked in a war with another galactic power. Using advanced technologies and time travel, the group attempts to uncover the cause of the war and to find a cure for their planet.

In a world where remakes have now become an undeniable reality for many a classic franchise, Star Ocean: First Departure R stands out from the crowd. Whereas the current trend for remakes is to fully update a game to modern standards, the philosophy behind this one clearly came from a different day and age. First having been release

It is very rare to see a video game that gets everything right from start to finish, but People of Note definitely falls into this category. It starts off by hooking with flashy musical

There are two different scenarios in which my monitor fails to display anything:

  • Initiating a restart through Windows, which includes when Windows updates and restarts itself

  • Waking the PC back up from sleep mode, but more specifically only when I use the keyboard to wake it up. It has never had an issue when I use the power button on the case.

Today I decided to sit down and update everything I can about my PC firmware to see if that would fix the issue. I updated my ASROCK B650-HDV/M.2 motherboard from firmware 1.21 to 3.50. Incidentally, when BIOS initiated a restart after finishing installing the firmware the same thing happened, but a force reboot fixed it and let me load back

#Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition ##Rating: 9/10

Xenoblade Chronicles follows Shulk and his band of friends as they search for answers about the mysterious "Monado" sword and defend their homeland from violent robotic creatures known as the Mechon.

Xenoblade Chronicles is the first JRPG I ever bought. In the last few months of 2023, I became highly intrigued by this particular franchise due to the praise I’d been hearing for the third entry’s Future Redeemed DLC. It promised to tie up the narrative ends of the three games and mix them altogether into a glorious finale bringing this trilogy’s over-arching narrative to an end. As a fan of narrative writing in any for

Got this one as a leftover from the recent Humble Choice as I already own it. Tell me your favourite ghost story (fictional or otherwise) to be eligible. :)

Don't forget to include your Steam profile in your comment as per the sub's rules!

I've been wanting to try and play the original Deus Ex, but I'd like to get the most of it in terms of graphical updates/quality of life additions while keeping the core game the same. I've seen there's a lot of different mods offering updates to the game (Revision, Transcended, GMDX, the recently released Augmented Edition), but which one is the best option for a new player where it doesn't add major changes to the game or its level design? I'd like the experience of vanilla to stay intact while it improves the more surface level elements. Any advice is appreciated as I've seen conflicting opinions!

This topic has been on my mind ever since I finished Disco Elysium a month ago, so why not write down my thoughts to finally get it out of my head? I had attempted to play Disco Elysium years ago, back before it received its Final Cut update. The game and I didn't quite match at the time, which I attribute to probably not being in the right head-space for it and the amount of times I died trying to get a tie off the fan in the first minutes of the game. Yes, the game got a lot more enjoyable for me when I stopped approaching every dice roll like one I had to succeed. I came back to it just last month and binged it to completion in about a week, which took me a good 45 hours. I'm not goin

#Alan Wake Remastered ##Rating: 6.5/10

Alan Wake, a bestselling thriller novelist experiencing writer's block. He travels to the small town of Bright Falls with his wife, Alice, seeking a change of environment. Shortly after their arrival, Alice vanishes under mysterious circumstances. As Alan searches for her, he discovers pages of a thriller novel he does not recall writing. Alan Wake Remastered takes a video game that is firmly rooted in early-2010’s game design and gives it a worthy paint job. The gam
