Hi guys, i'm new here.

I've started in the last few weeks on removing all vegetable oils from my diet including palm and rapeseed. I am doing it solely for health reasons as I am Type 2 diabetic, and suffering with IBS-like symptoms. I'm an adult male in my 50's for context.

Removing Palm oil & fats has actually been far easier than I thought, and I am slowly working on removing rapeseed oil from the diet now. So far, I don't show symptoms with sunflower oil, and I am not sure why that is.

I'm also slightly starch intolerant and gluten intolerant to a very mild degree - I can eat both in small quantities with no negative effects, but I really do have to watch my intake.

Anglish is supposed to be a continuation of Old English brought to a modern form without any French Loanwords, as if Willam had lost the battle of hastings by some miracle.

Old English, for those unfamiliar, is a heavy mixture of Norse, Germanic and even the odd word of Latin roots (mostly used by the church) carried over from the Roman Invasion.

I was inspired to this project/subreddit because I live in an area of the UK formerly called "the danelaw", rich with ancient history, and the village I live in itself has Viking origins. We have Iron age celtic ruins nearby and even pre

This has been a thing for me now since around late March. I do get maybe one or two really quick ads for a playlist once or twice a day. I use spotify on my Xbox as background music when gaming so it will often run for 4-6 hours going through daily mixes and other playlists. I have had it on today now for 8 hours continuous approximately and it hasn't played a single ad.

A couple of weeks ago, I was getting regular ads, then didn't use the app for around a week.

Its the Xbox Spotify app that runs in the background so I can listen whilst playing games, and for the last 4 days I haven't heard a single ad with the app running for 6+ hours at a time.

Anyone able to lend some insight to this?

Not really complaining as not having ads for free is nice, but am just really curious.

(I also accidentally posted this on the main spotify sub, was told to post it here)

What was it like growing up? Any strange or wonderful stories?

My dad was a boomer hippy, born in '51 himself, had me when he and my mum (i'm british) were 21/22.

I grew up listening to lots of prog rock and psychedelia, stuff like the stones, beatles, The who, Pink floyd.

My dad would regale us with stories of him going to wild parties where he saw some stuff that he never quite forgot.

He didn't flinch when I discovered weed at 16, and didn't mind as long as I shared it!

Nudity was normal in the house when there weren't guests around, and I knew everything I needed to about sex fairly young. He bought me a subscription to an adult magazine for my 14th birthday so I wouldn't keep "b
