Let me set the scene. I haven’t played computer games in… decades? Only very occasionally. I’ve been a Mac OS user all this time. I’ve always considered myself a gamer, but I’ve leaned toward consoles because PCs have always made me a bit anxious.

What I mean is, if I wanted to properly play certain games, I’d need a specific setup of components, and I’d constantly have to upgrade things every so often. With consoles, what you have is a closed system. That’s it.

Now, my 10-year-old son is getting a computer this week, a gift from someone close to us. Including all the components—even a One Piece mouse pad (so… nothing’s missing)—we’re talking about almost €2,000. I had a bit of a “discussi

Basically what the title says.

On Monday I’ll be starting my first internship ever — at 42 years old. I’ve always worked in fields completely unrelated to what I recently decided to properly study: graphic design, beyond what I had always learned on my own.

Here’s the situation. I’m currently doing a mid-level vocational degree in graphic design (year 1 out of 2). This Monday I’m being sent to intern at a major retail association in my city. My tutor said it’s the crown jewel of the placements they usually send students to.

But that’s not all. As I mentioned, I’m in a mid-level program, yet I’m being sent alongside a student from the higher-level program (it’s her third year studying desi

It had been a long time since my wife had talked in her sleep. She doesn't usually talk like in the movies; sometimes she lets out a word or two.

Yesterday, when I went to bed (very late), she had already been asleep for several hours and turned to the other side while murmuring something that made me ask "What?" several times. She usually answers (I never understood this), so on the second or third try, I understood what she was saying.

"Dany Rojas..."

Should (shouldn't it?) bother me or make me uneasy?

But

  1. it's obvious that it's something that can happen without being a problem...
  2. And I can't help but get into bed smiling, because after all, this series is deeply important to me

A friend has an iMac, from mid-2010 (according to its serial number). The problem is, the screen has stopped turning on.

It makes the startup sound, and the keyboard (a Windows keyboard with lights and all that) also lights up, but the screen doesn't.

I tried booting the computer in recovery mode, but it's still exactly the same (I thought it might be a software problem and not a hardware one, as I now believe it could be). I understand it's an older model and that comes with some issues, but I'd like to know if anyone knows what the problem is, if there's a solution, and/or if it's worth fixing, considering it's for browsing the web, some word processing, and very basic tasks (her teenage
