Anyone have any tips for beach fishing I was out for an hour and half 3 hours before high tide in killiney with some macarel on a pulley Penney rig and blanked

I’m going over to Austrilia from Ireland next week I’m staying in Perth for a bit. I mostly sea fish in Ireland but I would be open to doing either in Perth. Could anyone give me some recommendations for spots to catch fish I’m bringing just a reel with 25 pound mono and I’ll buy a rod there. Could anyone help with lures or bait to use I have no idea what species to target

Can anyone help me fishing on beaches I went out the other day using macarel as bait on a 2 hook flapper. First of all I couldn’t tell when I got a bite because of the waves and every time I would reel in the bait would be gone and a load of seaweed on the hooks. I was fishing in killiney. Any help appreciated
