It's always bugged me how much crypto still relies on long wallet addresses. In DeFi, we're sending money, sometimes a lot of it, by pasting in a long string of letters and numbers and checking it three times to make sure we're sending it to the right place. I sent funds to the wrong address a couple of times when I was first getting into crypto.
I recently came across AmericanFortress. Their wallet lets you send funds to a username, called a FortressName, on supported networks. They've launched a beta on Arbitrum, and it looks quite promising.
They're currently letting people reserve usernames, so if there's a name you want, you can check whether it's available. I've also seen mentions of
Is a VPN enough or should I get a proxy. I just really don't like the idea that anyone who knows how, could theoretically get my metadata from my wallet.
