I found out my wife was bisexual and secretly seeing women behind my back after our son was born. When I confronted her about it, she became hostile, grabbed a knife, and threatened to take her own life. I didn’t want things to escalate, so I left and stayed at a friend’s place.

This is where it spices up… I had already been keeping my distance, crashing on my friend’s sofa for about a month to process everything before even bringing up divorce. When I finally did, we started the process through the mosque where we got married, and both our parents were informed about the split, her parents asked me why, and I respectfully told them why with proof, and let’s just say they were shocked their

This morning around 7 AM, my aunt had a medical scare, and I rode with two female paramedics to Mount Sinai. While her partner handled triage, I talked to the other Filipino, beautiful eyes, black hair in a bun under her winter cap, and a warm, genuine vibe.

We clicked instantly. She asked about my height (6’8”), laughed when I said I’m Somali, and joked about us all being tall hoopers. She’s been a paramedic for seven years, originally studied something else, and our call was her first of the day.

I should’ve asked for her number just off the vibes alone, but I didn’t want to make it weird especially if I read the situation wrong. Now, I’m hoping fate gives me a second chance.

Today, my aunt had a medical scare, and I had to call 911. Two female paramedics arrived, and I rode with them to Mount Sinai. While her partner was giving my aunt’s info to the triage nurses, I started talking with the other paramedic. She had the most beautiful eyes, shiny black hair in a bun under her union winter cap, and a warm, genuine vibe. I asked if she was Filipino since I grew up around a lot of Filipinos, and she said “yes how did you know smiling” and proceeded to ask how tall I was. When I said 6’8” she asked me my ethnicity right after which I replied “Somali”, she laughed and said, “Why are all of you guys so tall? I hope you played basketball.”

We talked for a bit, and I co

So today, my aunt had a medical scare, and I had to call an ambulance. Two female paramedics showed up, and I went with them to Mount Sinai. While her partner was giving my aunt’s info to triage, me and her started talking. I honestly got lost in her eyes and asked if she was Filipino since I grew up around them. She asked how tall I was, and I said 6’8”, then she asked my ethnicity. I said Somali, and she said, “Why are all of you guys so tall?”

We chatted for a bit, and she seemed so genuine and cool. Should’ve just asked for her number, but honestly, I didn’t since I was there for my aunt. I know I may never see her again, but thought I’d give it a try. She just started her shift and has

I’m 29, and as I get closer to 30, I’m realizing how much of my life I’ve spent sacrificing for people who never truly had my back.

For most of my 20s, I devoted myself to supporting my mom and grandma financially working while trying to start my first year of university. They always reminded me that I was all they had, and when they told me give me your osap or sleep on the I gave up my Ontario student loan for a pillow and bed. That trust cost me everything. I got kicked out of my program for not making the fall term payment. But out of fear and shame, I still woke up every morning and went to campus, pretending I had classes, because admitting the truth felt impossible they eventually fo
