Found this page an interesting read: https://woburnma.gov/news/2025/12/fiscal-year-2026-tax-classification/
It links to a PDF with more info: https://woburnma.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Woburn-FY-26-Classification-packet-signed.pdf
Can't say I understand it entirely, but it looks like City Council voted to shift as much burden on property taxes as allowed by MA law on to commercial / industry taxpayers. Seems like that's what the City has historically done too. There's a lot of interesting data in here on how property taxes break down too, like how much residential property vs other types there (75% residential, so we can only shift taxes so much if we're already heavy on residential),

Article is light on details, just says:
A Superior Court judge on Thursday granted a restraining order against two fired Market Basket executives, barring them from visiting stores, offices, and other supermarket facilities, the company said.
A judge in Middlesex Superior Court granted Market Basket’s request for an injunction against Joe Schmidt and Tom Gordon, board member Steve Collins confirmed in a statement.
Honestly not surprised considering:
The company filed a request for the injunction Monday as part of a complaint alleging the two
Hey, I recently bought this Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 16 inch trimmer: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-40V-HP-Brushless-16-in-Cordless-Carbon-Fiber-Shaft-Attachment-Capable-String-Trimmer-with-4-0-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-RY40HPST01K/327681139
It came with this "Real Easy+ 3 in 1 Head" which I've been unable to figure out. For starters, it doesn't seem like it's sold separately and I can't find much on instructions. The picture from the Home Depot site is here though: https://images.thdstatic.com/productImages/76e76aab-f552-498f-927a-efe434535a30/svn/ryobi-cordless-string-trimmers-ry40hpst01k-4f_1000.jpg
I can get the Bump Feed Head working fine, though like many folks on YouTube I had troubl
Pretty much the title, but since the switch to automated trash pickup I've noticed a lot of folks on FB groups & market place are trying to get rid of old trash barrels they no longer need. I could use a few for yard waste, since I have a pretty large backyard filled with trees that I need to trim / deal with leaf pickup in the fall. I've tried reaching out to folks on FB but usually they post it, toss it to the curb and then I never hear back since I assume these go quick if they are in good shape. So if you have some and have been too busy to post them or to toss them to the curb yet, DM me and I'll swing by and take them off your hands for free.
I'm mostly looking for the stackable circu
This is a follow up to a couple of posts made recently:
- I mentioned the Community Electricity Program is launching in August in this thread, and noted that there are upcoming community meetings discussing this program too. For a refresher, they will be on either Wednesday June 25th at 10 AM (In-person at Woburn Senior Center, 144 School St.) or Wednesday June 25th at 6 PM (In-person or virtually at City Council Chambers, 10 Common St). The meeting link is at https://woburncommunityelectricity.com/ though it looks to just be a YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/@WoburnPublicMediaCenter

Figured I'd highlight some upcoming events or changes in Woburn:
- Next Saturday (SATURDAY, June 21, 2025 from 9 AM to 1 PM) is another Appliances Recycling Event at Spence Farm located at 41 Wyman Street in Woburn. It supports a non-profit and is cheaper than the curbside rate. More details here with pricing: https://woburnma.gov/events/event/appliance-freon-crt-electronics-recycling-collection-3/
- Trash Automation is happening soon, starting in July, 2025. New trash carts will be delivered starting the week of June 23rd. There's an FAQ here with more details. Note the cost increase for bul
Caught this when I happened to go looking for the 2025 Trash/Recycling pickup schedule: https://woburnma.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Woburn-Flyer-2025-1.pdf
Sounds like we'll be getting City provided barrels, and like with the recycling changes last year, no long able to dispose of additional waste outside of those barrels. Full text of the changes is on the second page and copy/pasted below:
Upcoming changes to trash collection – Effective July 2025
In July, Waste Management will be transitioning to an automated trash collection service similar to how recycling is picked up today. In preparation, all households served by the city will receive a new trash cart. At a July date to b
Basically the title. I've tried searching the City website and Google, but no results. I'd assume the answer is no, but figured I'd ask anyway.
Additional context: some towns and cities in New England provide sand for residents to use for sanding/salting driveways, sidewalks, entry ways, etc. Sometimes they leave them in blue barrels around town or sometimes they have it at a DPW yard. Sometimes they don't and you just buy your own. Figured I'd ask before running to the local home improvement stores.
