I use a gentle silicone facial scrubber on my scars and on my numb areas, which seems to be helping my numbness. I keep it in the shower which makes it easy to remember to do it.

Post surgery I read advice on doing things like brushing scars with a towel to help regain sensation. I wanted to offer this advice since it makes it easy to remember to do.

I am 4.5 months post-op and I used silicone gel twice a day on my scars starting around week 4 until 3.5 months post-op, then switched silicone tape. When I had my 3 month check-up my surgeon noted that my scars may be on the path to becoming hypertrophic, which was something I had had noticed as was worried about as well. They were very dark red but the biggest factor were that they were raised and getting worse. After this appointment I ordered scar tape online and started using that. While the active ingredient, silicone, is the same in both tape and gel, tape puts pressure on the scars which can help them heal flat. I feel like I see posts locked on this sub wayyy more than others. Additionally, when they are locked, I am confused why. They don’t seem to be posts that are inflammatory/are causing arguments, which is usually when I see posts that are locked for comments.

I am planning on wearing a spider-man suit for Halloween. I pack on the regular, but packing in a skin tight suit is way more obvious, and I feel awkward visibly packing since I’m meeting up with people who know I’m trans. But then I feel worse if I don’t have any bulge, it’s a Catch-22.

Advice?
