Looking at getting an SL8 pro tarmac with ultegra components (need ultegra to add shifters to aero bars). I’ll immediately take off the cockpit and put aluminum handlebars to add aero bars. My question is how is easy it to sell that cockpit? (If I buy a tier down so that it comes with the aluminum handlebars I can’t get it with ultegra.)
Anybody have any secrets/general tips to maintain training plan while traveling?
Im going to be in Napa for a long weekend (for work) and am trying to figure out how to get my long ride in. I think I have a plan for my swim that I’ll need to do while there and I’m obviously bringing my running stuff but am struggling with the bike. I really can’t imagine sitting on a hotel/gym bike for 2.5-3h; I looked at renting a bike while I’m out there but it’s pretty pricey and I can’t find a great route that would let me ride 45ish miles (I hate riding anywhere with cars because of prior experiences); everything is like 9-10miles - guess I could just do that over and over…

I am planning to get a new road bike, does anyone use a specialized road bike for 70.3 Ironmans? Trying to figure out which model would be the best for that purpose (don’t want a TT specific bike at the moment).
Background: used to run a lot, one prior marathon. Done sprint tris in the past. Want to get back into it. Running another marathon in October. Looking to set a 70.3 goal for 2026, can start training after I take a week or two off after the October race.
I live in Colorado and Boulder seems like the obvious choice since it wouldn’t really require any travel. However, a little nervous about the run course. I was also looking into Victoria, Oregon or Coeur d’Alene - ideally would like to stay in this geographic area for ease of travel purposes. I don’t want an ocean swim (I’m afraid of the ocean) and am mostly concerned about a hilly run.

Has anyone ever swapped the Harvia KIP for a pillar heater (preferably IKI or finnleo himalaya) in an Almost Heaven barrel?
I can get a barrel pretty cheap but would prefer to swap the heater for one of these and sell the harvia but I can’t tell if that’s possible or not, can’t find great spec/measurements. Was wondering if anyone who has a barrel has done this?
(I completely understand the barrel limitations, not interested in any comments on that. The goal is to build a custom proper sauna later but I’d like to go ahead and get the heater I want for now to use with the barrel until we can pull the trigger on the build.)
Anyone in Colorado that has been able to get approval for a wood burning heater (I’m specifically looking at an Iki) but it seems like it’s impossible since it’s not on the EPA list…
