So like the SI units are defined by universal constants, but it's been retrofitted in, so we had a meter before and then when it came to defining it from a universal constant we changed the universal constant to match with our existing understanding of a meter.

Has someone made a different system where the starting point was just defining the universal constants as one (or some power of ten to make it look neater) and then deriving everything else from that?

I work at a school and have "inherited" a large format printer, a Canon iPF670.

I've been tasked with getting it up and running, but I'm stuck trying to install the driver. Trying to download it from the website i only get an empty .exe file that my PC says it can't run. I've tried finding a customer support section on their page where I can ask a Canon employee what to do, but can't find anywhere to get in contact with an actual person.

Where can I get the driver to get this old, expensive piece of crap working?

Like say you live in a 50 unit apartment complex that's just been built for the typical cost of such a complex, paying the median rent how long would it take before you'd paid off a 50th of the cost to build the place?

Bonus question: What do you think it would do to the property market if, after you'd paid off a certain percentage of the unit value, you could have a legally protected right to buy the unit again for some certain amount of the original value, effectively making it so that landlords would have a cap on the return of interest they could get on properties before renters could get a chance to own them?
