Classroom Management & Strategies

So we are a district that has a zero tolerance policy on cell phone use. Pre-covid, I decided to go paperless which was a God-send during the lock down. I've used apps like camscanner to have students upload their written work, but now that the district has gone anti-phone it's become harder.

Last year, I told them to just upload their work outside of school, but I hate the fact that this has to happen. Even my best students forget that they get their work done and have to wait. I also would love it to be able to take pictures of their work on the board and turn in that way.

We are a 1-1 district with chromebooks for about half the population and BYOD for the other half (slowly transitioni

Miami Ave

Traffic🚗

I am not a Madeira resident but I drive through at least once a week. It is seriously the worst road in Cincinnati, and feels like its sporadically under construction with absolutely nothing to show for it (or makes the road worse). What is going on with that road?

Hey reddit--

I'm reading the books to my kids (10,7,5,3). After finishing Fellowship, I let my oldest watch the Peter Jackson live action, but held off on the others. Theyre all pretty invested in the story in their own (age appropriate) ways.

Would anyone here recommend the animated version of the trilogy? I've never seen them, except for the occasional clips that appear on Twitter and Youtube shorts. They look awfully cheesy, but maybe for little kiddos it might be the way to go.

I've heard theyve made some weird changes like Saruman's name. Any other insights? Good for kids? Worth just waiting until they're older?

Anyone have details about what happened in the caf today? Got the email and checked around but I couldn't find any details or video anywhere.

Is the app down for anyone else? I would hate to lose my streaks, especially the case clearing one since I still 17 to go to get the last achievement

So I watched the Bengals-Browns game with a party but the sound was muted. I saw the refs threw a flag on the Browns that they ultimately picked up. It looked to be an eligibility issue with the coach and the player brushing the jersey number. We were confused because we didn't think you could have an illegal man downfield on a run block, goalline play. Can someone explain the issue and why the flag was ultimately picked up?

We are back with another ally-free deck, this time in favor of four heroes and four spheres. You are obviously filling your deck with restricted attachments, but there's a catch this time: You have to have an equal number of cards within the four spheres. While restricted attachments tend to run in the tactics sphere, there are a couple to be found elsewhere. But one frustrating thing that you will run into i

I apologize for the long delay between #9 and #10. It's been a busy summer!

Continuing down the road with the Forth, The Three Hunters! contract, we come to the combo of The Riddle-game. Now, this is one of my favorite combos. I love the guarded cards, but often it takes multiple rounds to get them into play. A "free" restricted card to sta

This is going a little out of order, as I was hoping to continue with the At the End of All Things contract. However, using Forth, The Three Hunters! in the last deck has led me to become distracted with a thought -- how on earth am I going to marry up the hunters contract with The Burglar's Turn ?

I now move up to the two-hero combination of At the End of All Things. This behaves differently than The Grey Wanderer, as it becomes impossible to run a two-hero secrecy deck (The contracts alone accounts for 12 threat). I originally started finagling with the At the End of All Things contract and deck before landing on the most natural pairing in the Living Card Game (the

This just about concludes our first contract, The Grey Wanderer. I will return to it in part A and B of the Messenger of the King WAB, but for now, we have to pair our singular hero with the Riddle-Game contract. This is a unique contract and thus if we were hoping to play a deck multiplayer (thus far, these decks have been multiplayer-friendly), we are taking this out of the pool.

At a redditor's suggestion, I am posting this here and in the description of the deck. I'll be checking feedback at both posts.

So this is my first time experimenting with the Into the West contract. It probably would have done me some good to play around with it in isolation first, because admittedly (1) I have not played the Scouring of the Shire and (2) I didn't really understand what the contract w

For our next entry, we get to what was at one point my favorite contract, The Burglar's Turn. I am not sure what it was, but something about getting some serious surprise boons from traveling to locations added an element of excitement to the game (especially in what is usually the dullest phase). If last "episode's" co
